Now before I get started, this isn't a thread about one I ordered, but a few days ago I stumbled upon an old thread about how the stepcuts don't necessarily look realistic compared to the real deal. Who here feels this way? I want to be 100% sure of my purchase before I order. What are the good and bads? I've been through countless threads on the site and most of the stones look really good, but if the owner has the real deal, compared side to side the asha seems to flop. What are your opinions?

Both! I've seen criticism of both.

If you look at pics of sparklee's and cattrails real emerald cut diamond, the Asha's really don't compare, imo. There is something about the real diamonds; the depth or the *oily* look to it. The Asha right beside it looks very glassy. The krupps looks much more realistic I think.

I haven't seen an asscher Asha nect to an asscher diamond I don't think....

I had an asscher once and it was gorgeous when it was freshly cleaned, but fell flat after wearing it all day due to smudgeons and stuff. If you like square stones I suggest the princess cut. I have seen it and it is BETTER than the best ideal cut real princess. Absolutely. For EC's I would recomemend the Krupps cut. I think those few extra facets help the overall look of the cut. You'll just have to get in the habit of soaking your rings every night to keep her clean. smile I also think the warmer color - H - helps too.

I completely agree with Jcent. The krupps is the most realistic looking of the 3, IMO. The asscher and regular emerald cut looks flat to me, glassy.

That is a shame because I love the asscher! But all of that sounds like a hassle. I mean, I clean my rings once a week now but everyday? Ugh!

Unfortunately I just don't like the pc as much! I'm not a huge fan of modern cuts! I love the vintage feel of the asscher

can you wait for the Amora Gem?? I think it is one of the next cuts to be done; at least as a prototype to see it. wink Seling could be some time longer, but I think it will look much more realistic.
