no, Ashas don't cloud. they may get dirty and need a little cleaning, but they don't cloud.

+1 I am a long time board member, I have never heard of anyone complaining about an asha clouding.

It's very difficult to get a good photo of an Asha. I have managed to do it but it wasn't easy. I have had a "Past, Present, Future" Asha ring that is stunning for 7 yrs. A 3ct Princess center with a 1ct Princess on each side. It was not easy to get a good photo of it, but this ring shines like the sun in ANY kind of light - even bright sunlight where most synthetics wash out completely. Mine is 7 years old and shines like the sun but you must keep it clean. I was warned NOT to use an ammonia cleaner on it as it can cause cloudiness. I use a tiny bit of Dawn and soft toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and dry with bathroom tissue - top and underneath. I've done this and my stones still look like the day I got them. They are brilliant in any kind of light. I compared it to a Moissanite of equal size and it was terrible. At the sunny window of the shop - the Moissanite just washed out and had the "green tint" I had heard about - not to mention the double refraction. These are mainly noticable in the larger stones. The Asha Princess is a stunning stone and the cut is brilliant.

It's possible you might need to do something different. But you owe it to yourself and your boyfriend to give your current ring a go first. Not only to be sure but because not wearing it will hurt your boyfriends feelings which isn't a good way to start your engagement.

Now, I can see not wearing it when doing physical activity. But you should wear it all other times - shopping, meeting friends, going out, etc. It's possible with wear you will find yourself more comfortable and less anxious about the size and all that. Getting a few compliments from strangers and friends/family also helps too. smile

Now if you wear it almost constantly for a few weeks and still find it's too large for you, then talk to your boyfriend and tell him you'd be more comfortable going with a smaller stone in a lower set mount. He'll know since you've been wearing the ring constantly that you have in fact given it a proper try.
