I have a beautiful setting with a not so beautiful stone in the middle. I ordered the 2ct Asha princess cut (7mm) H color to replace it with. I got it in no time at all, so fast....and it's too small!! When I ordered my ring (from another company) it was a 3ct setting. I special ordered it to be a 2 ct setting. I guess it wasn't 2cts exactly....ugh!!!!

oh no that sucks frown problem is carat weight and stone size is not universal. maybe you can send back the asha and exchange for a large one to fit your setting ?

UGH! That has to be so frustrating!!

Maybe you can contact Wink at winkcz.com and have him cut a princess to fit?? I know that it is not an Asha, but I have both and Asha and an Interlap and they are both so lovely!

I'm sorry to hear about what happened.

Thanks....I thought of that too but I remember seeing on the forum somewhere that these companies do not mount rings or cut to fit I thought? I am so torn. I absolutely love my setting but I am starting to think I am going to have to get a new one. For a few reasons, one being I haven't found a realistic looking princess cut sim yet! Here is a link to my ring. (I hope I'm allowed to post this, I am so confused about this forum lol)

Princess cut ring.

Cattrail that never dawned on me, wow I'm a dope. Thanks for responding. I am going to have to exchange it. I wish I could send my ring in and have the confused m just add a beautiful stone to it.

That is a gorgeous mounting, but I agree, the stone is not!!

If you take the ring to a jeweler and ask him to measure the stone in the ring with a caliper, he can give you the exact measurement. Then you can maybe return this stone and exchange it for the correct size.

Not that I'm aware of, but is the stone an odd size?!?! I would guess that Birkat Elyon would not use custom sizes and the CZ's would be standard diamond equivalent sizes.

Thanks SouthernBella, I fell in love at first sight. That is why I'm so upset, I don't want to have to find another ring.

Yeah, it would be hard for CZs to not come in standard sizes... I don't know if you can special order a stone from Wink, he has cut stones for me in the past.

I wonder if they actually sent you a ring w/ the 3ct stone. Maybe a standard 3 ct will fit. I agree just have the stone measured and then you will know which stone to buy.

Another option is to send back the ring and have someone else make you a setting like that to fit your stone, it is a gorgeous setting btw.

Did you pay to have it altered to fit a 2 ct? If so I would send it back to them and make them do it right. If they can't then I would just have someone here make it up for you or just go for the bigger stone if you think you would be comfortable wearing that size stone.

That is a beautiful setting, my thinking is that they sent you a 3ct version anyway. I hope they didn't charge you custom fees?

Thanks everyone for your input.
I emailed BE and asked what size the stone was. They responded 7.5mm. I am really pissed off; that is 2.62cts!! If I wanted that big of a stone I would have just gotten the 3ct stone. I told them I want it fixed and to let me know the process of sending it back. I am not sure what kind of response I will get from them because the ring is over a year old. I know they are going to ask why I didn't say this earlier, but honestly I just thought I didn't realize how big the 2ct would look in the setting.
I'll keep you all updated, thanks again.

Someone who registered just this morning--without any posts what so ever wrote to me asking about the very same ring. She said that she or her fiance ordered it and she is terrified she's not going to like it. I told her that I couldn't comment on the stone because I'm not qualified but judging from what I have purchased; birkat elyon's workmanship is good.

I hope that it all turns out well for her if she is indeed who and what she says that she is.

I got the same exact email. She asked me for pictures of it on my hand. I haven't heard back from her yet.

BE wrote back and wants me to send the ring back to them so they can clean the stone and replace it if needed. They also stated that 7.5mm IS 2 carats and they weren't sure where I got the information that it wasn't. So I researched a little online and I think they're right. So why does Asha's website say 7mm is 2cts?
2 side notes...I am tempted to buy a larger stone from Asha and send it to BE to set it, but I don't want to offend them. Their workmanship is outstanding.
Also, that girl who requested pictures never wrote back.

Hi Olive--Why don't you wait and see what BE's new stone looks like. If you don't like it you can always get Wink to custom cut a princess CZ for you. I was looking at his princess cuts earlier and they're fantastic!! And you're right--BE has excellent workmanship. I wouldn't offend them by sending them an Asha to set in your ring--you can get any local jeweler to do that.

That young girl never wrote back to me either.
