I didn't go to Vegas, but I did elope. It was wonderful. I never dreamed of a big wedding, and because my husband is much older with kids my age, and between my crazy family and his with the constant 'this one isn't talking to this one' etc., I said SCREW IT! It's my day and I'm eloping! I haven't regretted it and probably never will.

As others said, it's not for everybody. I personally have never cared for large weddings and even though I have lots of fun when I go, there are lots of things I just don't personally like.

But, regardless, go with what's in your heart!

I'm a little late to the game, but I got married in Vegas 5 1/2 years ago!

I started to plan the wedding with DH and I got so overwhelmed with the thought of spending x amount of money, that he suggested we elope and get married in Vegas. He basically said: we have this much money we can spend, do you want a big wedding and go into debt? or do you want a diamond? I opted for the diamond and it's the one in my avatar.

We got married in the Monte Carlo and we did a live web-stream, and a bunch of members here watched it.
