Hello BTD Users, I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend in a couple of weeks, but with so many options of rings I am looking into getting some people's opinions about the following ring. http://www.moissaniteco.com/round-moissanite-cathedral-wedding-set-015ct-p-12883.htmlMy girlfriend is very simple. She doesn't wear much jewelery and I have been really looking into this ring. If anyone happens to have real life pictures of this ring that would be much appreciated. I guess being a guy I wanted to ask around what you think of this ring as well. I am thinking about adding a Amora Moissanite .75ct round center stone. Thanks for your help. D

Hi Dhrg, Congrats on being ready to propose, and what a nice guy you are trying to find something really special for your girl! First things first- will she be ok with a moissanite rather than a diamond? It's very important you know this- as however much she likes plain and unfussy a LOT of women out there will not be ok with anything but a real diamond- the DeBeers brainwashing is very effective and many women would not be happy with anything less for their engagement ring. Having said that, if she's fine with it, then that's a really pretty ring and is very classic and simple- a beautiful choice- and a 0.75ct amora in it would look just wonderful good luck and let us know how it goes!

Hi iloveshiny,
Thanks you so much for your reply.
About your question if she wouldn't mind Moissanite. Here is the thing. I have known my girlfriend for 2 years. She is from Central America. She is not very materialistic I guess you can say. She love simple things. The same goes for myself. We have never spoken about diamonds, but we have talked about us being together in the future. Within those conversations she has never stated nor made any type of comment that says,"No, it's a diamond or nothing".
I also don't believe in holding this information back from her either and will tell her. It's funny because I didn't know about blood diamonds before until I started doing a lot of research online. It really got to me when I became more informed. Don't get me wrong either I stepped into some jewelery stores and some of the diamonds are extremely nice, but knowing the back story changed my thought process for sure. Also, the way you stated that DeBeers is brainwashing. It's crazy.
Anyway, I don't believe in starting anything out with a lie. So I do plan to tell her the ring is Moissanite. I believe that the true meaning behind it is what really matters, I can only hope that she feel the same.

Hooray for all of this! If a guy as genuine and integry-based as you proposes, how could a girl possibly say no? If she surprises you and finds the Amora offensive for some reason, then you can educate her the way you have educated yourself. If she still can't get past it, then that's the beauty of the 30 day return window. The way you describe her, though, I bet she'll appreciate your reasons and be on board. Not to mention, once you both see it in real life, you're going to be goners. They really are stunning. You do know that you are obligated to post photos here once you have the ring, right? We will also all want to hear the proposal story. They never get old. Congratulations on this exciting time of your life. Enjoy every minute of it.
