I think size it *typically* more of the issue in it looking believable, however a .25ct difference will NEVER be distinguished by the casual observer. I think the size your looking for is perfectly believable for almost anybody. Also, I think it depends on the type of people you mostly hang around with. I don't hang out with anybody that knows a thing about diamonds, so for the most part I could wear a cyclopes on my hand and fool them. If I were you I would only let the facet pattern sway your opinion. The 'I' color ashas are actually incredibly white, and they are MUCH whiter than the moissanites that were graded from EGL as 'I' color. This video shows the difference between a modern cushion and ACC (but it is diamonds). I would choose your favorite in the diamonds, and get the asha that is the same cut. I also think size is the biggest factor for believability. I also don't think the ACC would show enough colour to see a difference. I'm also hoping to get an ACC so I've been doing a lot of research and I haven't come across an ACC asha that looks yellow at all.
I think the smallest ACC would be ok, not unbelievable at all. It would be perfect!

Carat amount is just weight not size. It's the mm's that give you the actual description of size. If the are both 6mm they will look the exact same size on your finger. And yes the different carat weights are due to the different cuts. But 6mm is 6mm is 6mm.

I think the reason the 6mm ACC is a 1.25 is because it is cut deeper than the moderns. So it is technically more carat weight, but face-up is the exact same size.
I loveee the ACC, and as far as I am concered you just can't beat those pastels with the modern scintillation.
Bear in mind though, that people are familiar with the modern cuts, and very few know the look of the antique cuts, so maybe a modern would be more "believable"..?
I decided at the beginning of my E-ring search that I was going to get what is pleasant to my eyes, and not what anybody else might believe. I'm doing a 3ct OEC Amora Moissanite in a halo setting.

I love the ACC! It's more pleasing to my eye but the modern is also beautiful too! I think the setting your putting it in also has a lot to do with it. If you decide on the 6mm ACC I think the size will be fine! Do it
