I think a 6mm is 1ct equivilant.

I just looked at 3 different mm to carat conversion charts and saw 3 different answers... Grrr now i'm more confused than ever!

My cushion cut diamond is 1.07 ct and 6mm, if that helps.

The reason all of the conversion charts are so different is because the depth of almost every single diamond varies, and this impacts it's carat weight.

If you have a super deep cut cushion it could be 1.3ct and only be 6mm in diameter (this might be off a little, but I think you understand).

On the BTD website, it says that:

6 mm antique cushion cut: 1.25 carats
6.5 mm antique cushion: 1.5 carats

6 mm regular cushion: 1.0 carat
6.5 mm regular cushion: 1.5 carat

So if you order an Asha from BTD, you know what you're getting, exactly and will know what to tell people. Depends on the cut you choose. I vote for the regular cushion, but that's because it's more popular right now, people have seen it, and it has lots of the "pinpoint" sparkles of light Good luck! Let us know what you choose!

That's the problem with diamond weight/size, people have started taking "carats" and tried to make it size gospel. That's why even with diamonds you really need to check mm spread. Some .8 carats face up like a 1ct and some 1.2ct face up like a .9ct, and then some SHAPES face up smaller than other shapes where as others face up larger. After all this engagement ring research if there's one thing I learned is that it's all about the mm's. And I will probably challenge anyone that asks me for carat weight. What does carat matter when what they want to know is how BIG it is, not how heavy *eyeroll*. Carat weight is such a pissing contest.
