very pretty rings megan, but to the OP, aqua is also not a stone that can stand daily wear unfortunately! Aqua is not that delicate of a stone...on the mohs hardness scale it is 7.5-8, which is fine for daily wear. Plus, the mountings I found are bezel set, which the stone is protected even more. Even a sapphire will scratch/chip if not taken care of properly. Aquas do not hold up well with time. Sapphires and diamonds are far better for an ering. Aquas will require repolishing after a few years as the facets will look "fuzzy" and are prone to chipping. Of course which setting you put it in would make a difference, but again, I wouldn't recommend an aqua for an ering type of ring which you are likely to wear more than once a week or whatever. And if you are not use to gemstones or jewelry and having to take care of your rings, it's probably not a good choice I vote for the poppy ring too! It's so pretty

Agree about the aquas for an ering. It may be hard, but it's still a beryl. Imagine doing an ering in emeralds - just too brittle to be practical that way.
I had a customer who wanted paraiba tourmaline for a ering. Showed her a LeVian ring with a 4 carat center with a massive chip in it from being bumped. Same Mohs rating, just not practical for everyday wearing as a ring.

Well damn, Poppyseed, I think that may be a winner. This makes me happy, that you like something enough to say "Well damn." If you decide to go with Amcor, you will love working with Poppy. She's not just prompt and helpful, she's very kind when you start wigging out and getting all neurotic about making a commitment to a design.

Well damn, Poppyseed, I think that may be a winner. I'll message you privately when I have a little more time (on my way to work now). Yep, that's a winner! I've worked w/ Poppyseed on a past ring project, and it was a pleasure, price was very fair, etc. Most importantly, the set came out very well! I just have to add how wonderful it is that you are putting this much thought and time into the ring (taking account of your GF's tastes) and the proposal itself! You will be a very happily married man if this kind of effort continues through your marriage. Very sweet. Good luck and have fun with your ring project. We are all looking forward to seeing the completed piece, and of course, hearing about the actual proposal.
