I also want to cover a scar. It's 25 yrs old, so it should take, no? I don't see how it would hurt more...mine is practically numb from nerve damage.

Flash, I think you can but I would go to the artist first (or a few) and ask them. It doesn't hurt to put the time in to research. I did after my first tattoo and never regretting it. Nothing worse than going into a place with high hopes and walking out with something that is going to last forever that you don't like.

I would really research covering of scars to find a talent that can do it properly smile My $.02 ~Red

LOL, I'd love the name of the artist! I'd travel for a tattoo for the right one. wink

That was off topic, sorry.

A friend of mine also had bypass and had a tattoo put right on top of it. I also heard it can be done if it's completely healed and not pink/red. I would assume it would hurt more since that skin is scar tissue but I haven't heard that before.

I also had surgery - I had a sleeve gastrectomy. I also follow a very low carb diet, to keep my PCOS in check, and I exercise. That's the only way it would work for me. All are tools in the lifelong battle, right? Congratulations on your amazing weight loss as well! You did great!

As for covering a TT scar with a tattoo... I've just often wondered about it. I don't have any nerves in my current scars, they're just numb. So I guess I'll wait until post TT and see how that scar feels. (I'll of course wait at least a year, or until after it goes white.) Maybe I'll try a tiny tattoo on my hip, and if that takes well to the scar, then I can get the bigger piece I'm wanting to cover the whole thing.

Maybe if I were 30 years younger........ wink

My daughter has her tongue pierced, and "snake bites". I wasn't sure I'd like the snake bites at first, but they've grown on me. She has small studs in there and I actually think they look really good.

that person's teeth are freaky. they're way too white. their teeth are freakier than their piercings.

(which reminds me - i figured out a few months ago one of the reasons i prefer British tv shows. their teeth are actually tooth-coloured, unlike here where most everyone on tee-vee has teeth like this person)

OMG!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thinks that people in this country have gone crazy with their teeth whitening. Teeth are NOT supposed to be stark white! It looks totally unnatural and drives me crazy....... grin

I have my lip pierced from hs/college still! The hole wont seem to close and now it looks like a little freckle below my lip - lol - no one has known what it is/noticed so that's good. I would never put the lip stud back in though obviously- now that I look back over pictures it kind of looks like a growth - I always put a pretty large sparkly in there LOL.

Here's a pic from my jr year of college. I remember I was trying so hard to cover up a sunburn on my face that day! I also might be slightly intoxicated - it was the 4th of July afterall!

This was the smallest sparkly I used - I wish I could find pics of the other ones!
