I hate to even make the situation worse, but take a look at this thread regarding the very disappointing discovery about the BBB. You can't rely on them anymore -

Purchased a ring from Cynthia of Bodyjewels.com Ring ok and her service PRIOR to paying for ring was OUTSTANDING. Return calls within minutes. E-mail returns very quickly also. But..... follow up service SUCKS!! Trying for 4 months to get ring serviced and getting a return number from Cynthia. She seems scatter-brained and not really knowing right from left. She sends some info but not ALL info in order to get my yearly ring check. She is a menace! I contacted BBB and she gave them some half-baked, lame-brained ridiculous story and they closed inquiry. BBB seems a useless as Cynthia from bodyjewels.com. STAY AWAY! She is a horrendous business woman and I'm sure works out of some pull-behind trailer out in the desert. Probably lives in it too. I plan on going on any and all blogs and telling the world whats up with her and her sh*t service and ignoring customers after they pay. Just as I did here. I suggest you all do the same.

This is the first I've seen this thread, so I haven't commented before. I had a nasty, nasty experience with Body Jewels some years back. The name Cynthia is even familiar to me after all this time. It's sad that it seems this is typical for them, not an isolated incident.

The reason why cynthia at Bodyjewels can't really take care of you after you buy something is because she stiffs her vendors so she constantly changes where she sources the merchandise. I know...i used to be one of her suppliers.

I purchased a ring from that company back in '03. Not only did I get the wrong ring, but the stones were loose! I also thought the setting was flimsy. Her stuff was overpriced then and I am sure is overpriced now. NEVER AGAIN! I did get my money back from the credit card co. Communication was nonexistent with her. It makes me angry just thinking about it! Avoid shoddyjewels.com like the plague!

I really appreciate this thread. I almost got suckered in my some of those Tacori-like designs. Thanks everyone for the feedback!

And yeah, really appreciate seeing the threads like this...both the warnings about certain places and the encouragement that other places sell quality things and have great customer service. I have learned sooo much from these boards...things I deeply wish I'd known back when I was buying my e-ring. I thought I was informed, and I knew the basics, but there is so much more to purchasing decisions re: jewelry.

Heh...if you bought a gold ring back then, there's a pretty good chance I made it. Yes, her stuff is overpriced, but in my opinion it's a perfectly legitimate business strategy to charge top dollar and provide top service, so prices in itself should not mean that she's not credible.

About the loose stones thing. I swear I personally inspect each and every item before it is shipped and I ship it in a ring box or a baggie and even wrap the jewelry around a cotton ball inside the box, but some of them arrive with loose stones. A lot of cheapo jewelers try to get around the problem by glue.
