I was wondering the exact same thing missbrowner! i was gonna post this question Ahh, this makes me worried because i read the same things about the stepcuts looking glassy on some reviews =/ and I reallyyyy want the asscher for my e-ring and like you-lol i dont wanna wait for the amora gem too my second choice for my ering is a round asha and then a cushion I really love the vintage feel of the asscher n i feel like almost everyone has a round or cushion I guess i will just have to order an asha asscher and try to compare it at a jewelry store, but im having trouble finding those that carry asscher cuts but then it could also be a psychological thing- if i really want the asscher, i have to remind myself that its not a diamond its mean to simulate one but its still beautiful in it its own right

I have a Diamond EC, EC Asha and Asscher Asha. The asscher looks better than the EC but both lack in the realistic department. I actually talked to someone once I got my asscher because I felt that I maybe got a dud I think you notice a difference when you have a diamond to compare it to.

http://tinypic.com/r/2116h00/5 you can see my asscher looks " plastic" to me that is the best way to describe it. Or maybe it reminds me of a high color diamond with strong blue flour. Kinda has the same look to me.

OP, can you order loose stones to look at them in person first? Looking at pics and hearing other people's opinions is helpful, but not enough when it comes to knowing if you will actually like how the stone looks in real life.

I had an asscher once and it was gorgeous when it was freshly cleaned, but fell flat after wearing it all day due to smudgeons and stuff. *Exactly* my experience, except that mine fell flat about four hours after cleaning, not after all day. I also agree with jcent's description of it being glassy looking. I was so excited about it and wanted so badly to love it, so I wore it for six months trying to get it to be "the one." But it just didn't work out for me.
