OMG - that asscher ring is amazing, Erica!
I've never seen the asscher, but I've seen all the Asha ECs and I think the Krupp is the most realistic on it's own. However, if it's not clean it's very plastic looking. But when it's clean, the sparkle and bars of light throw me off in some lighting cause it seems to be way too much, like what you know is typical of a CZ. I have seen diamond ECs, although I didn't know the clarity, they weren't nearly as colorful. It's because of this that I'm uncomfortable with the Krupp.
Hopefully someone has seen a well cut, g color, vvs1 diamond EC, and can tell us what the difference is....

LOL @ KJMM Maybe it's the 'too much dispersion' I really like about my asha asscher. If by that you mean the color rainbow bars of sparkle I get when it's in the sun or the light hits just right, I can get lost in those for hours! +1. There's nothing better than low lighting when it comes to this cut, I get mesmerized every time. Where RB, princess, and radiant are known for the brilliance, Asschers are all about fire. I have ogled over many Asscher diamond comparison videos on GOG, you may want to check them out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4OFjtYrNu8&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I have had over the years a couple of Asha Asschers and I LOVE them.
Seriously these stones are so pretty.
I clean my rings ritualisticly so it has never even crossed my mind that cleaning was a problem for the cut, but if so it is totally worth it for a breath-taking stone.

Personally, I'm not a fan of ANY step cut sims. It seems to me as if step cuts just don't capture that "certain something" that diamonds possess. I have yet to find one that would convince me otherwise........ I know some say that the Krupps comes close, but I don't agree.

Hopefully someone has seen a well cut, g color, vvs1 diamond EC, and can tell us what the difference is.... I have a well cut F VVS2 emerald cut diamond, and the difference between it and the Krupps is huge! The Krupps cut has too many steps, and is essentially, for all intents and purposes, an elongated asscher. Besides the fact that it's rectangular in shape, and has steps, it's nothing like an EC diamond.
