Dana you are brilliant and I could hug you for your truthful post.
It shocks me how there is a large group of woman here who never hesitate to bash someone because they called someone out on their sim, (she must be jealous, your sim looks better than her diamond, she probably has a real diamond and a fake marriage, here is some comebacks to try and make people feel rude and stupid for asking if your fake is real....and on and on). It's awful. The same women want to buy a sim, lie to the world to pass it off as a diamond and don't want anyone to judge them for doing so but they feel the need to judge others for their choice in engagements rings. Unreal.

Unreal. Woah... um, I haven't seen that on this forum so far. I know plenty of girls on this forum who don't try to pass their sims off as diamonds but when girls are trying to evade intrusive questions about their stones, it's usually in regards to much smaller, more believable stones. I think the general consensus here is that 20 carats, real or not, is too much for most of us to feel comfortable with. I'm just not sure if I follow where you're coming from with your remarks.

Unreal. In my personal opinion, there is a difference between the women on this board who seem to be good ladies , than a celebrity like Kim Kardashian. I judge the Kardashians because they have put themselves into the position (reality shows following their lives, frequently visiting paparazzi hot spots so their pics can be taken etc.) to do so. It is one thing to try to pass off a diamond simply because you do not have the means or do not support the diamond industry, and want to avoid the confrontations and the smug remarks of people. It is another to have millions, and buy an ostentatious ring like that. I would tell anyone that. No matter who is wearing it, a 20 carat diamond ring IMO is ostentatious. Sometimes we like to give people the benefit of the doubt here, and we try to be kind and supportive of each other. (There are rules about that somewhere actually). Kim Kardashian who frequently calls herself a role model for young women is in the spotlight to be judged.

Thatn person is a celebrity... Why?????? What has she done? She isn't an actress, she doesn't sing.... Oh, that's right, she made a video and it was plastered on the internet. I do think those sisters are trash. Most celebrities I have seen don't choose rings that big and gaudy.
And yeah, I love diamonds, I'm crazy for emerald cuts, but think that ring is crazy. I had a diamond and it chipped. My ex paid a lot of money for it, and now, it's value is very diminished because of that chip. To have it recut would be to lose a lot of the weight. This turned off diamonds, personally, plus all tjat is going on in the diamond industry. I don't need another diamond to make me happy, ,seriously a nice stone like Asha or Moissanite will do and for a lot less money.
I also happen to live in a place that has been hit really hard by insecurity. I live in the highest income per person place in Mexico, where you used to see huge diamonds, outgrageous cars and people dressed with several thousands worth of clothes daily. Priorities hace certainly changed. I know people who have traded the BMWs for simpler cars, they do not wear their expensive watches and leave the big rings at home. I even see less expensive designer bags out there now. Things are certainly changing, and you do not need the $$$$$ things to make you happy. Plus there are more things happening worldwide too. The earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis... Devastation everywhere. We were hit by a hurricane one year ago and my city lhasn't recovered from the damage, that can give you a lesson in what is important.
So she has a $2 million dollar 20ct ring... I think she is an atention whore, and a 2-3carat ring could be a lot prettier, and the excess million could be better saved or spent elsewhere. <sarcasm> i canot wait for E! to broadcast the weddiing!</sarcasm>
Sorry for the bad typing, my ipad and me are't fully acquainted yet.

true.... but if it was silver and sims, and belonged to one of us, we'd probably all be sayin' to rock it and have fun. y'know? I wouldn't. I don't usually say anything when I see a ring on here that I think is too big, because there's no point and I don't want to hurt the person's feelings. But in a thread about celebrities, I don't feel bad in saying that I think a 20 carat ring is too much. I actually think 20 carats is outrageous, and I doubt Kim Kardashian is going to be reading this thread, and I doubt she'd care about my opinion anyway.

Unreal. I'm sorry, but you have a misconcption of the woman on this forum. I don't recall the "bashing" or the "large group of woman" that you speak of. I certaintly do not recall anyone here speaking of anyone's "fake marriages" either. Are you sure it was not in reference to the lifestyle the celebs live. After reading your post again it appears that something happened to you directly to make you post your comment in the manner you did. We are all supportive of each other on this forum whether you wear a real diamond or sims or moissanite-it all comes down to personal choice.
