I am so glad your Asha was 8mm, that scared me thinking of that for a second. Don't cry, just try to problem solve First, ask yourself if you like it like this?? If you do then who cares what I think. Second, if you don't you could always try Moco, but the stone has now been set by an outside bench. That would be their call, but they may say no. I am not sure what you should do, but the girdle does look exposed to me. I wish you could just smoosh it down too.

I noticed my oec didn't photograph well when it came to the actual color of the stone so who knows.. what matters is if you love it! I'm with Jcent though. If m-co won't take it back just remember OEC's are in such high demand I'm sure you would have no problem selling it on the bistro.

Ya,.Jcent,..I certainly do not like the look of the girdle showing. DK already saw this thread..lol..probably his assistant!! And he says I can send it back,.to see if he can set it down more,...or put the Asha back.. Big big bummer........... This is a crazy crazy question,..if the culet was cut a lil bigger (dont even know if that is possible) would it fit better in the setting?? I know,.crazy idea...

Most rings have an exposed girdle to some extent so that by itself isn't a problem. My moissy sits in just 4 prongs and is so it is exposed on every side, MUCH more vulnerable than yours Kanga.
I don't think it is bad, but you have to love it.
IF you don't think you can live with it.... this might be a totally crazy suggestion given what you have already been through, so don't hurt me.....but maybe the 7.5 would have been a better fit after all??? Would someone want to trade with you for your 8? *runs and hides*

MissKK,.problem is there is no no nooooooooo way I can take a loss on this stone. Remember I had to even pay more to get the darn thing! Almost 300 more than the 7.5. with the line of people wanting one I'd bet you could get what you paid for...
