Having a major dilemma!!!!

I just agreed to buy a diamond I had my eye on for a couple months, and it's a diamond that I've cancelled the transaction on twice before because I ended up getting a sim instead.
First time I agreed to buy then cancel, it was through a vendor, then it sold to a private party, then it appeared on the second hand market, then I agreed to buy it then cancelled, then came back the next day and agreed to buy it. I was going to put it in a pendant, and what finally got me truly commit to buying it this time was the second hand market price but having the original vendor's life time trade up policy!
But, then, yesterday... a ring that I thought would NEVER ever ever ever appear on the secondary market just appeared at 50% of what it would cost to have it made. It's just my size and gorgeous. Only thing is that it once held a huge diamond that I would never spend that much money on. I would LOVE to put an OEC moissy in it but I don't think it can be modified to hold a round stone (nor do I think it would look right with round stone), and I've discovered I'm just too hard on my rings so now I always want to go moissy or diamond when I can, but with this ring my only option is a custom cut wink cz. The ring is sooooo beautiful that I would be more than willing to rock a cz in there and just baby it (alhtough my husband would be upset with me getting a cz again. He's against them now as I've already chipped the one in my avatar after only the 4th time I wore it out! He doesn't think of them as "forever"--so I'd be going against him.) But one major con is that there is no trade up policy and I kind of don't want to get yet another e-ring, and I don't want to have to try to sell any of the ones I JUST got.
I also don't have a budget to do both. I'm over this years budget as it is anyway. But I love both so very much and don't know what to do!
it doesn't help that I'm already knee deep in the pendant project. But that ring... I...just...NEED IT!!!!!!
Help!

I think you should buy the ring and hold off on the pendent. is there anyway you could get the setting, wait on the setting and finish the pendent? Sounds like the setting deal is a once in a blue moon type of thing.

What about a colored stone for the almost-purchased ring?! You could have a custom-cut lab sapphire from BTD, for example. even better idea!

I called shotgun on your SK ring....so....I'm gonna be no help in not enabling you to sell it LOL!
No but seriously, I think I know which ring you are talking about, and I would totally go for it. It's amazing.

idk if youve given up the diamond and u keep going back to it i think youll regret it if u let it go again...
i went thru that kind of opposite with a ring, i kept saying i wanted to sell a ring but kept procrastinating and then finally listed it, but pulled it down after about 5 mins LOL so despite me trying to be logical i did want it after all...
plus you cant put a moissy or a diamond in the ring, and uve already got some gorgeous rings..

I think you should buy the ring and hold off on the pendent. is there anyway you could get the setting, wait on the setting and finish the pendent? Sounds like the setting deal is a once in a blue moon type of thing. It IS once in a blue moon...but I feel so bad cancelling on the girl who is selling me the diamond. I know I'm being vague about the ring, but it's...it's...it's a ring that makes me studder... it's a ring that I never dreamed of picking up on the secondary market... But it's also a ring that I didn't want to put a cz in. I surely can't afford a diamond that size! Mayne come 2015 I could put in an AVC but who knows if that will actually happen? I called shotgun on your SK ring....so....I'm gonna be no help in not enabling you to sell it LOL!
No but seriously, I think I know which ring you are talking about, and I would totally go for it. It's amazing. I thought some of you might know which one! I'm pretty sure you have the right one in mind. idk if youve given up the diamond and u keep going back to it i think youll regret it if u let it go again...

plus you cant put a moissy or a diamond in the ring, and uve already got some gorgeous rings.. I totally feel this way. I don't really NEED yet another ring. My collection as of right now is just rings and a pair of earrings, excluding my childhood jewelry. I need to diversify. ANd I've been trying to move away from cz for rings because I destroy them so quickly. I will tell you something I have found with myself. When I buy and then cancel or return...and then rebuy the same dang thing...return...and then purchase it a 3rd time - usually, 3rd time isn't the charm - just "the definition of insanity". Usually, this is with perfume...but it applies everywhere with me and my loves. With jewelry - I have repurchased one particular ring 3 times - expecting a different result each time I suppose - again - Like Einstein (I believe??) said...definition of insanity. What I am trying to say - usually, that means it isn't the right thing to do. I would say to you - Darlin', I think this is NOT the stone for you and I would add - I don't think the ring is either based on the fact that you would overshoot your budget AND it would require putting a stone in that you do not ultimately love and enjoy.
Not sure if I helped or answered your question or made things worse :0( You know, this is was a fear might be happening. Back and forth relationships are no good right?

I know it sucks to cancel on someone, especially after being indecisive about the purchase before but I agree with cherokeegirl, maybe this diamond just isn't for you!
I can't afford that setting, if my damn bonus had come in already I would be ALL over it!
