Thanks LoveMe and Bling yeah - that is the question I had. It says a 9mm x 9mm and I wanted to do a 7.5mm at largest. He just got back to me and said that an 8.5mm is the smallest he can do. He is so nice, added some freebies for me...but....really, can I rock out a 3ct ring?

I think it really depends on your lifestyle and your comfort level. 7.5m to 8.5 is a big difference for alot of people. What are your concerns about a 3ct ring? Too big for your finger size, believability,etc?

Not my finger at all, believability would be one. When I decided I was sick of my old ring looking like crap, my main objective was to find something that everyone would believe was a real diamond. I saw the reactions when people looked at my ring; first a smile at the setting and oooooh so pretty and then the realization of the center stone....it was blech. Embarrassing to say the least.

I wonder if there is nothing he can do...I am open to modifying the ring a little in order to allow a smaller stone in the middle.

Thank you Elle...I am in a standstill of what to do, but honestly I have drive (being relentless more like it) and in my heart I have a feeling I'll be wearing this ring.

DK is known here for his quality custom work at an affordable price. Can he not make you this same setting from scratch to perfectly fit the 7.5mm stone you most want? That seems like the obvious answer to me, unless you know something I don't (which, let's face it, happens to me all the time).
