Thanks for all the comments. I really appreciate it. Please forgive me I dont have much time today to reply each of you.

I've been having a difficult time deciding if I should keep it or not. Thinking about this all day long makes me so tired. You know,,, I was just VERY excited to have it, I kind of made my mind before even getting it and I totally believed that amora moissy would be the one. But like some of you said "you should love it at first sight", "Trusting it to grow on you is likely not the way to go", I might return it. Well, before giving it up let me talk about the color and cut.

It is warmer than I was expecting, but it's a loose stone, and it will be different when it's set, I understand that. I was worried more about "rainbow color" or "disco ball crazy look". But I dont think I see too many colors which some people think "it's fake" . Mostly it looks white enough, or light lemon color/buttery tone. I hardly see green tone.
About cut, I knew it would look different. But this "flower shade" is something I didnt know. I dont think any pictures of square brilliant cut show this, and even video doesnt show this either. Some of you might think it happens only at particular angle, but it's very noticeable to me, it catches my eyes a lot. It's a BIG difference compared to diamond's princess cut, especially it's 2ct, big enough to see it, and I'm afraid it could be the first/main reason for people to doubt it is a diamond. But since it's very unique I kind of like it:) Maybe I should try to take a photo of it when the room is dark, the flower looks WHITE while the stone looks dark. (It's opposite look!) It's very unique and interesting. It's like a white flower is floating in the dark.

Since I'm looking for a diamond look and many of you recommended, I think I will try asha princess. I thought about cushion amora as some of you also recommended, but I'd like to get a same style as my e-ring and the stone has to be totally square. I really wish they had princess cut moissy, it would be perfect! I really liked the fact the moissanite is not cz and lasts forever, also very sparkly. Please remember that I was not satisfied does NOT mean I didnt like amora. I am just not sure if this is the best choice as a replacement of my e-ring. I wanna pass it off as a diamond, so I think, top priority should be "the look" not my preference in this case.

I've been reading a lot about asha, trying to learn more. My big concern is, as I already told you, I cant baby it. I'm not gonna take off the ring and cant keep cleaning it so constantly, maybe once a week? (BTW, thanks for correcting me, NatalieStar!) Someone said try to avoid ammonia, but where would you get ammonia??? Is it something you usually see/have around the house or in your life? Can I go to the pool ? Can I use sunblock spray? What else should I try to avoid? Is there a list?

-------------
I know some people here love moissy, others dont. Same as asha. I dont wanna be rude to those who have different opinions. But here is the only place I can be honest about the feeling I'm having right now and talk about the best thing to do next. I apologize if anything I said bothered/hurt your feeling.

You havent hurt anyone's feelings silly girl!!

If you get the Asha now,.and the Amora princess gem when it comes out,..that solves all your problems!!

Asha is harder that some other gemstones that people wear for E-rings,...so I think you will be fine!!

I have even had a kangaroo nibble on my Asha!! And NO scratches!!

Just clean her like once a week with a soft baby toothbrush,(soak her in a little bowl with Dawn soap and white vinegar)..and you will be good to go!!

Someone used the term "cracked ice" on here once-and I think it is a good way to decribe a true princess cut diamond. You don't get that with the Amora moissy cut. IMHO I think the difference in cut and too much steelyness in the middle makes it questionable.
If you haven't seen the new photos of the Amora Gem-go look! It just may change your mind! The pics are mind blowingly gorgeous and I have decided to wait to upgrade my stone until I can get it.
I have a princess cut Asha pendant 1.5ct and I am one of those that don't love it. Sorry to say frown Even as a pendant it just doesn't stay clean-and it is too white.

Hi Sparkle!mom,
Which color is your asha? I'd like to ask you more details about why you dont like it. Is it kind of same as other CZs to you? Dont you think amora gem would be too white?

Sure...ask away! My Asha is a 1.5ct princess V6 which is F color. Truth be told, I have had alot of other Cz's and I can't see the big difference between this and a much cheaper version if it is cut well. I can't move past the lack of depth. The color doesn't really bother me in theory, but when you pair a cz in an F color and it also lacks that steely look diamonds have, there is no passing it off in my eye. I also am really bothered by the windowing-and the bigger the stone the more noticeable it is. Plus, I really do need to clean it all the time. I really don't get much use out of it as I find I just feel like I can't pass it off. But I am just ONE opinion, there are alot of people who love them!
That said, I am holding out for the Amora Gem. I have a regular moissanite and really love the depth and steely look it has. It doesn't have any hint of a glassy appearance. At times it looks a little fuzzy and shows some yellow which bugs me. From what I have been reading, the Amora will keep all the good qualities I already love about Moissanite and none of the bad. I wear my Moissy every day-do dishes in it, dig in the garden, swim in the pool and it looks just as beautiful dirty as it does clean. I get compliments on it all the time. People ask if it an heirloom it is so pretty. And for what it's worth, it has micro pave stones and they have taken a beating and are still all there three years later (shout out to MoissCo for their workmanship!) I just think the Amora will be the end-all-be-all in a diamond substitute and I can hold out a while longer-albeit not patiently. I hope I answered your questions and again I am just one opinion. wink

I am one who has an Asha ering, never babies it, and I continue to love it almost 4 years later. I use rubbing alcohol & a soft toothbrush every 1 -2 weeks, but I recently tried the warm white vinegar soak and felt like that gave it a deeper clean.

It's sparkely and casts rainbows in direct sunlight, flashes of fire all the time, and never been questioned that it is not real. And when I do tell people it's not a diamond, they're always surprised.

I've owned and loved Asha, moissanite and diamond rings (amongst other pieces) and I never wear them in swimming pools (chlorine damages gold which may eventually cause the stones to be lost). I also never put on hair product, hand lotion, sunscreen, do dishes, scrub floors, etc. with sparkie rings on. smile Anything that could cause damage (inadvertently or otherwise) or cause "gunk" to be deposited on the stones and therefore, less sparkle, I avoid. smile

Just quick post, to let you guys know what I'm up to,,,

I sent some messages to BTD, asked about Asha and I was so impressed!! Less responded right away!! Also he was very honest about his concern. I was so happy that he told me that my ring might have a small problem because of my tiny skinny finger. (Usually other companies dont wanna tell you that kind of things.) Great customer service!! I think I will order 2 loose stones, H color and G/F to compare. I'm still not sure if I wanna have cz just because I dont wanna ruin the stone from being so rough, and some of you have negative opinions and others have so much love, I have no idea which side I will be.

I will try to keep posting the process. (Hopefully some of you are interested in my journey!)

>kangaroocrazy
Get asha, and then amora gem when it coms out,,, that sounds like what I'm likely to do...

>Sparkle!mom
Thanks for sharing your story. Listening to negative opinion is very important for me to know the other side of the things. Your post is a big help. Thanks!

I think they do have princess cut moissy, but they have more color if I remember correctly.

Here is a true princess moissy on right, amora-ized with not good results, but there is such a cut. Now whether they are still available not sure?

PS there is amonia in Lestoil, and Windex

I wouldn't do any of these things with a diamond ring either. I treat my diamonds the same way I treat my sims, except that the diamonds never get to go on vacation with me. I use the sims for travel smile
