How does this diamond compare to an Asha ACC?

I have a 7mm ACC all ready to go in whatever setting my BF ends up choosing for me...but it came out this weekend that he is really not comfortable with the idea of a sim. I LOVE the ACC and I've been trying to convince him for months that the asha is what I really want. He said before that he didn't understand but said whatever I wanted. Apparently the idea has just been nagging at him. I haven't spent much time looking at diamonds but besides the conflict issue, the other reasons I don't want a diamond are the cost for a decent one (I can think of way more things to spend that much $ on), the fear of losing the stone, and also that the larger cushions often have an uneven symmetry that looks like a rectangular to me. I found this diamond tonight (the cost makes my stomach turn!) and just wanted to get thoughts/opinions? It has a medium culet, which is ok and the color seems like it wouldn't be too warm. Thanks in advance

Perhaps you can try talking to him again? If diamonds aren't your cup of tea, I say follow ur heart. I think you can convince him to see things from your perspective... it may just take some time.
My fiance' had the same hang-ups as yours .....until I lost my e-ring. His response is now whatever I want. :-) I sam so obsessed with the Amora Gem that I think it rubbed off on him. LOL. I was able to get him look at Less' videos and posts. That act alone speaks volume considering it was in the middle of the UK b-ball game.

I don't really like that stone and I love antique diamonds! does not look very symmetrical to me and its definitely warmer than a g/h. G/H should look pretty darn white!! As far as your fiance, I don't really have any advice, I know several girls here have gone through the same thing as you have ! some people just do not get why we would want a SIM! Hopefully someone with the same issue with chime in! btw, www.oldworlddiamonds.com is a good place for diamonds and from what I understand, they are very very helpful.

That's a stock photo, not the actual diamond...be wary! That same pic is all over ebay.
Talk to Adam at OWD. He CAN work with you on price.
You can also try JBEG of course...I do know she's about to put a 1.68 OMC on sale tomorrow or within the next few days for $4K and she has a lifetime trade up policy.
Real OMC's or antique cushions from about 100 years ago are almost always going to be wonkyish and warm to light yellow ("cape"), that's part of their charm, so don't expect symmetry or high color.
If you are looking for symmetry and optimal light return look into the AVC's and AVR's at GOG.
If $5K is your price range you can pick up a very nice diamond at that price!
I can understand the emotional factor behind him wanting a diamond. Even though head to head, moissy trumps diamond in every single category, diamond braninwashing is very hard to unlearn and seems to linger.
But I highly recommend buying an OEC moissanite, and if you can find a way to see an OEC diamond and compare them side to side for your BF I think he will be convinced.
I swear, every day, I wear an OEC amora on my left hand and an OEC diamond on my right hand, and in EVERY single lighting condition I can NEVER see a difference--never--not even in the car--and trust me, I am ALWAYS looking for it.

I get that from a traditional point of view the guy buys the ring. But, shouldn't he be focused on what YOU want? You don't want a diamond....but he thinks you should have one anyway. For me this would be a serious conversation about more than just a ring.
But, staying focused on the ring for the purpose of this conversation...
Would he agree to get a non-diamond stone now and give it a chance? There's no reason that you couldn't go to a diamond later if you both agree but seeing how happy you are with a stone that you actually want might convince him.
FWIW...I don't like that diamond but huge culets don't appeal to me and I'd want to put it in a bezel to visually help with the asymmetry.

Well, that sucks that he doesn't want to use the Asha you want him to use. I can't say I understand fully, because I made sure my husband knew that if he ever 'wasted' money on a diamond, I'd say "no". Or return it. My husband just feels like he won the lottery having such a 'frugal' wife. (little does he know my evil plan is just to amass a tonne of sparklies over the years! hahaha!) You could show him a diamond that's the size/clarity/colour equivalent to your Asha ACC. The price alone will freak him out. Or should. I did a search for you on the Good Old Gold website under their diamond search... and found the prices were between $20,700 and $42,774 for a stone with similar colour grade, clarity, and size as the 7mm ACC Asha has. (I used the GOG site because I love their August Vintage cut. And it means they're all the same cut, so it standardized the quality on that level for my search purposes) See it here: AV Cushion search You've shown him what you want. You've probably tried to talk him into liking it. I'd tell him (jokingly) that a diamond is fine if he needs it to prove his manhood, but you want the stone size you want for your finger. And start showing him links like the above one. See how fast he starts warming up to Asha or Amora! lol! I think if you sacrifice on size, or quality of the stone's cut/clarity just to get a diamond, you probably aren't going to be happy with it forever. So he'd be buying a diamond, and then later you'd still end up with an Asha or Moissy as an upgrade. So, perhaps he needs to take that into account as well in his budgeting. In the end, I really hope you get something that YOU love to wear, and that HE is comfortable showing off.

whoops... interesting that its a fake picture. Makes you worried about the actual diamond they are selling.
