Cut - this is what would bother me about this Amora. I know you're asking about color, and it is on the warmer side (but in a good way), but the overdarkness in this "X" cut is what is throwing me off.

For $1000, I would have to love it at first sight.

ETA - an Asha PC or a Wink PC warmed to your liking might be a good swap.

Could not have said it better! I really dislike the Moissanite square cut!

Actually that was me and I was talking about CZ not Asha, I was saying I prefered my Asha to CZ because with standard CZ one fingerprint ruins the sparkle.

I love my Asha! I think you will really really like the Princess asha, its breath-taking.

I would like to see that next to a regular Moissanite as in all honesty, a lot of the amoras i see look like reg moissanites. It could be a cheaper option. My 3ct RB unenhanced is a good colour, v white. It might be worth ordering a reg moissanite, just to compare. I like a bit of warmth, i think the colours are more vivid...

Good luck!

I agree you should love it at first sight. I am a princess lover and have been toying with the idea of upgrading my center stone. I see warmth in the Amora too but, like someone said not in a bad way. I think what I see more is the difference in cut. Someone used the term "cracked ice" on here once-and I think it is a good way to decribe a true princess cut diamond. You don't get that with the Amora moissy cut. IMHO I think the difference in cut and too much steelyness in the middle makes it questionable.
If you haven't seen the new photos of the Amora Gem-go look! It just may change your mind! The pics are mind blowingly gorgeous and I have decided to wait to upgrade my stone until I can get it.
I have a princess cut Asha pendant 1.5ct and I am one of those that don't love it. Sorry to say frown Even as a pendant it just doesn't stay clean-and it is too white.

If you do not love it, most definitely return it. Trusting it to grow on you is likely not the way to go!

I would agree that in this case it may be a matter of not loving the cut, not so much even about the warmth (given your comfort with your current diamond's warmth). I LOVE warmth, but am not fond of many of the moissanite cuts. A cushion may work so you can give that a try, or, you may just want to hold out for the Amora Gem which will have a princess cut (just announced last week!). The Amora Gem's cut will be MUCH more like you are used to in a square cut, I imagine, and since it is supposed to be about an F, will be far whiter as well.

I definitely see warmth in that Square brilliant, even when compared to the diamond.

I think... if you don't love it 100% you should return it, I actually like your princess diamond better than the square brilliant (i'm not a fan of the square brilliant cut though)

I do agree with the girls who suggested trying a cushion stone, it's still a square shape, but the cut is so much nicer than the square!

I think an Asha would also be a good option, and least until the Amora Gem comes out! smile

Hi babyfinger smile I just wanted to relate my experience about the square brilliants.

Last month I ordered my first moissanite ever, it is an Amora square brilliant 1.1 ct (5.5mm). I debated on the size I wanted for a while before I ordered. I ended up ordering a smaller stone because I read that the bigger the stone, the more warmth it shows and I wasn't sure how I'd like a warmer stone.

When I got my ring the stone ended up being so much bigger than I imagined it would be smile I did notice the X/flower within the cut of the stone but honestly, I don't see it 99% of the time when I'm wearing my ring. To me, it's part of the total sum of the stone. While it's not readily visible in its setting unless you are holding the ring at a certain angle in a certain light, it seems to play an important part in the depth of the stone.

I have noticed a buttery tone to my stone in certain lighting but not very often. Initially, I wasn't sure how I felt about it when I first noticed it but realized after a while that it is almost always white, and it is mega clear (the clarity is to die for). I've come to the conclusion that the touch of warmth that is hiding within it is a necessary component of its beauty just like the cut of it.

I absolutely love my ring, it has a personality all its own. It seems almost alive like a plant or something, lol. I have started to wonder, even panic, though, that once they stop amorizing the moissanites and go strictly with the new Amora stones if the uniqueness of the warmth combined with the amorizing will be lost forever frown

(Btw, I tried comparing my moissanite to a real diamond I have and quickly realized I love the moissanite for its own properties and uniqueness, kind of like my kids, lol)

Anyway, I realize each person has certain properties that they love/want the most about different stones but for me, I love my square brilliant. I almost ordered a square brilliant pendant but then thought that I wanted my ring to remain the totally unique piece of jewelry that it is. smile

Hi Babyfinger

I'm new to this forum (researching moissanite vs diamond vs CZ)and came across your post. While its true that the moissanite has a warmer tone, I personally find that the CZ looks like glass and doesn't appear to have depth - not like a real diamond at all. As others have mentioned, the moissanite's colour actually matches your diamond very closely. In the end, you have to be happy with your choice so go with your gut feeling. There would be nothing worse than spending money on something that is meant to bring you pleasure but doesn't.

As mentioned, if you don't love it...send it back. Don't settle, especially for that amount of money.
