just got a call from my doc. I didn't pass my glucose test, so now I have to go for a 3 hour glucose test. Ugh I was so sick from the 1 hour test I can't imagine a 3 hour. Plus i'm sooo afraid of needles I usually pass out or come near passing out when I get my blood taken, and now I have to get 4 sticks!

I feel like i'm going to pass out right now jsut from the anxiety.

Hopeing I pas this test b/c I cannot imagine having to prick my finger everyday.

oh, that sucks Sim. I am sorry. On a positive note, I don't know if you would have to prick your finger everyday. I had a friend that tested positive for GD, so they just put her on a restricted diet; essentially just low GI. That is how I eat anyway, so I thought it was funny... anyway, she did not have to do any finger prick tests.

Jcent, so glad you and baby are doing well! Here's hoping you make it to 37 weeks! We are cheering you and the baby on!

Simi I am sorry about the glucose test, no fun! Hopefully, like Jcent said, if you do test positive you will just have to do a restricted diet!

Sim, it is better that they called you to be on the cautios side than not... When I was pregnant, I passed that test and my blood sugar was "normal" on every test they did, however, I gained a lot of weight, and had a 9lb 4oz baby who was born hipoglycemic and had to stay 10 days in the NICU. Trust me, you don't want that!

My SIL was diagnosed with GD and she took care of herself, limiting foods that were high on the glycemic index. My nephew was born fine without any complications!

I continue to see an endocrinologist for my thiroid and he swears that I must have had GD in my pregnancy with DD and they just weren't careful enough to detect it.

ultrasound is booked for friday!! im soo excited to find out the gender!!
