I meant your ruby! Your setting is perfection. I might have to contact David about it... My stones are Wink stones and weren't that expensive to begin with (ordered them a lot of years ago when they hadn't increased in price yet), so I might go for 14K white gold. I have a 7mm and an 8mm one. There is a setting at Unique settings that I thought was great, and it is the same concept, but this one is way prettier and more perfect!

I have metal allergies, so that is why I always go for plat, but I was really surprised at how reasonable it was. In 14k, I think you will be very pleasantly surprised. It will probably come in around the same as the Unique setting. I don't know how you feel about the donut part, but for me, it is a little boxy. Initially it did not bother me, but now after having more time to look at it (ie, obsess over it) I would have the basket made a little sleeker. Just a something to consider if you get him to remake it.

Because of you all I have a quote from The Great One. I am so pleasantly surprised and excited. A Custom Ring in platinum for LESS than the cheapest "designer" ring in 14k gold I was looking at. This man is now my sparkle hero. I look forward to sharing my design with you.
