Hi all,

For those of you that have seen both the amora OEC and untreated OEC moissy, was there really a dramatic color difference?

I really love light yellow interlaps and those are about a K or so. If I decide to go with a moissy, is the difference between the amora and untreated in this cut really worth all the extra money?

I think untreated they are a K. Treated they are H/I...

I don't really think the unehanced OEC is colored enough to be considered light yellow (by nmy standards). I am getting an Amora not so much to rid the yellow tones, but to minimize the green.

If the ring is an e-ring or a forever ring that you will look at often, I would opt for the Amora, but that is totally a personal preference thing.

Ack, I didn't realize green tones were a problem. Well, that certainly makes me think twice. How pronounced are they? Does the enhancement eliminate them?

Thanks!

The question is are you planning on passing it off as a diamond? Larger sizes show more color. Being color sensitive varies, you might not be able to see the yellow/green, but what if others around you can notice the tint? Kangaroocrazy has the whitest unenhanced OEC; I have seen posted on the forums- it is very pretty.

I have a 7.5mm unenhanced OEC moissy and to me it just looks warm but I also have it set in yellow gold so maybe that makes a difference. I don't ever see green.

I didn't see any green in my unenhanced stone either.

I don't think green in moissanite in general is very pronounced, but in my RB moissanite I certainly noticed it in a few different lighting situations.

The OEC seems to show less green (by board concensus) than the regular brilliant cuts in moissy.

I just didn't want to take a chance.

Yeah, the guy who has my OEC right now let me know once he received it that it was gorgeous. He works with moissanite fairly often (mostly rounds) and was quick to let me know, without any prompting, that it did not seem to show the same degree of undertones he often saw (specifically the green).

However, I also add that I did not mind the "risk" of seeing a bit of green now and then as I like stones that are a bit moody and with colour (and I like green!).

I have looked at the photos and videos of a LOT of moissy OECs, both with and without Amora, on here and elsewhere, and hands down everytime I am just more drawn to the unenhanced one. If I see a bit of green now and then in trade for a stone that I seem to be far more drawn too anyway, well, it is worth it!

And I would LOVE to see more buttery yellow in it!

However, if I preferred colourless stones, or as close to it as I could get, and did NOT want to deal with any (or as little as possible) moodiness at all, I would have gone with Amora.
