MRG, maybe you can get back into teaching? Or is there something you always wished you could try? This seems like the perfect opportunity smile smile

I'm unemployed. I was a teaching assistant, but becaue I don't have my degree I can't sub. I do remedial work in English and reading, but school budgets have been decimated in the last several years.

eta: I've been married to the same wonderful man for 28 years ad have a 26year old son.My husband is a GREAT GUY...he never says no to me about anything!! and has the wackiest sense of humor--he can always make me laugh. And being unemployed for so long certainly makes me need a laugh!

I love reading about the faces behind the names. I'm just starting in life really. I went to university, then Bible college, and the university, and came out with a degree in Nursing. I'm working in a hospital full time and I love it.

My fiancee and a friend of his are in the midst of renovating a shop to start their own plumbing business. So, for that I'm also ripping up carpets and tile and digging through dirt on my time off.

I love nursing though, and I am considering going back to school in the future to get my nurse practitioner. However, we want to start a family first!!

And, going way back to an earlier statement, I absolutely love the smell of books! Ever since I was a little girl I've read voraciously and continuously (almost). I own a kindle, but there are a few books that I still buy hardcover. Nothing quite beats it.

Late to the party as usual....

I have a bachelor of Social Work and also my enrolled nursing diploma. My former career was in Volunteer Management, where I supported hundreds of not for profit organisations in connecting to suitable and willing volunteers.

Now I work for the Federal Government in social security compliance. Not my dream job, however I earn more in my 3.5 days a week than most Social Workers earn FT.

As an aside, more importantly, I am married to a wonderful man who puts up with my sparkle-lust. I also have two very beloved birds who make me smile.

NS, teaching has floated around in my head, but it keeps being pushed out by thoughts of doing something in the jewelry industry. No surprise there, huh? I'll need to do some exploring in the next few years. smile
