oh lordy, i saw this hilarious show where canadians were surveying americans about us...

all these ppl signed a petition to legalize toasters...i could not believe how many ppl think we travel via dog sled or skidoo...plus we live in igloos...some of them didnt even know where canada is!!! its crazay LOL

No, not all Americans are dumb, we have our share for sure but there are dumb people everywhere. Some of it is just stereotypes and cultural difference. We hosted several foreign exchange students and they were shocked that we actually ate at home so much and had food not from boxes! They thought all Americans eat out all the time and ate junk/processed food. Yet another exchange student stayed with a family where they either ate out or ordered take out for every meal. Pop tarts were served for breakfast. When our students heard about this they asked if I could buy some pop tarts for them to try. I did...but just one box, lol.
We did live up to their expectations for driving everywhere but that is because we live in a semi-rural area and we can't easily walk or bike. They all lived in little towns and only needed a car if they were going way out of town...like 20 minutes away. LOL

But still, there is no excuse for thinking that someone from South Africa has to be black and have tigers in the back yard. DUH!!
