It's from moissaniteco it's the Edwardian on ashadiamonds site. It's very similar to antique setting sites and Fay Cullen had the exact same one for awhile. Some seller on eBay sells it too. I love the "crown" head to it. Jansjewells has a good selection to look at.

Oh my goodness, I missed so much in this thread! shocked Yes, I saw a similiar ring when I was at a jewelry store with flashfrenzy. Honestly, I thought Lily was WAY prettier. I think knockoffs of this ring are very difficult because Lily is incredibly dainty. I mean, crazy dainty! All similiar rings have looked much bulkier and unappealing to me. Sorry you have to deal with ring drama, Erica!

Gong back to the original question...

May I ask about how you feel about the contrast between the melee color and the center stone? Is it very obvious?

I love the contrast! I can definitely see a color difference, but I'm one of the few people that like that, lol. Most people obsessively want to match the center stone with their melee, but for some reason I think the antique OEC is really striking and glowy against the F/G melee. love That being said, if I had a modern cut then the color difference would bother me. I like antiques to have body color and I like modern cuts to be whiter.

Schubach's didn't tell me ahead of time that they were going to add tiny prongs. To be honest, when I first opened the box I immediately thought, "WTH?!" I wasn't expecting it and I wish they had warned me before they shipped Lily to me so I could have mentally prepared to see her with prongs. They have grown on me, though! smile They are like fierce lil flames curling around the OEC. Plus, they make my ring more secure which is the most important thing! wink

Now that you have lived with your OEC for awhile, would you have opted for the Amora treatment since noticing your stone picked up green in your clothes? Or is it not often enough to warrant the treatment? I was hoping to get a 9mm OEC because I would like some warmth, but I don't want to see a ton of yellow or green.

I am sure Milady will chime in here, but I think she said that she would like to upgrade at some point, as the green bugs her quite a bit...and her fav colour is green, so she wants to be able to wear it without her stone turning into an apple. I see an Amora Gem OEC in her future wink

Thanks Jcent! I am thinking of waiting for the Amora Gem OEC. In the meantime I might try and find an Asha OEC to use as a placeholder. I am dying for an OEC after drooling over all the beautiful ones that have been posted lately!

Just to add my .2 cents on the issue, I think that an Amora OEC (not Amora Gem) is actually already extremely expensive, and if I had any question as to whether I was going to want to switch it out in the future, I think I would just do the asha as a place holder. That's what I would do if my situation were the same as yours.

jcent is right! laugh Considering I frequently wear green, I would vote for an Amora Gem OEC whenever those come out. Even those are too white for my tastes, since I prefer warmth in antique cuts, I think I would deal with the "whiteness" better than then green tones. I don't see the green on a daily basis or anything, but since this is my forever ring I want to be comfortable wearing it forever and not worrying about the color. smile I'm not in a hurry because the regular moissy is OEC is still beautiful, though! If you are planning on getting the Amora Gem OEC then I would definitely get the Asha OEC as a placeholder. I still love my Asha OEC - so pretty!!

Thanks for your info Milady. I am trying to work on a setting that would use both the moissy OEC and rose cut moissys. I wonder if the Amora enhanced OEC would look too white next to the rose cut moissys? I read that the rose cuts are an M/N color and that they look best in warmer metals like palladium or yellow gold. I love the look of Ashas, but spending almost half of what it would cost to get a moissy doesn't make a lot of sense. After looking at the video, I think the Amora gem might be too white for me. I'm still looking and trying decide. Too many options!!

Is platinum considered a warm metal? I thought it was quite cool?

I definitely think an unenhanced OEC with rose cuts would be simply devineeee either in unplated white gold, or even more preferably in 18k rose gold!
