I own 3 princess cut Asha's & think they are the most realistic princess sims out there. The princess cut was my fav cut when I got into the jewelry world so I studied it like CRAZY! Yes the princess Asha does window- BUT what sim doesn't? Now as far as the princess cut goes- the Asha princess cut IS cut to perfection! It's cut just like how a SUPER IDEAL cut princess cut diamond would be. As sparklee mentioned earlier, the reason your diamond doesn't look the same as the Asha princess is b/c it's prolly not an Ideal cut I'm assuming. I have only been to 1 jeweler in TX that carries these "A Cut Above" Ideal princess cuts & most 99% of jewelers do not carry these superb princess cut diamonds in house. I was on the same boat as you before when I first received my princess Asha. I had it set in my E-ring & went to a TON of jewelry stores to compare it & that's when I realized- Ooh SH*T! My princess Asha looks off!?! Yikes! But then I did some more research with Less & my local jeweler & found out that my princess cut Asha was cut to Ideal proportions. It's the best of the best cut basically & that's why I didn't see any princess cut diamonds in the jewelry stores cut like mine. For example... you know how you hardly see any true H&A cut diamonds in jewelry stores? It's b/c they are $$$ & not many people will want to shall out money for them vs just a regular diamond that's cut well but doesn't have the H&A specs. So the jewelry stores just stock the Average, Good, Very Good, & Excellent cut diamonds normally. WhiteFlash just started carrying these "A Cut Above" princess cuts last year & I do believe Asha princess cuts looks pretty darn close to these Super Ideal cut princess cuts- Link with specs- http://www.whiteflash.com/about-diamonds/diamond-education/whiteflash-aca-princess-cut-diamonds.htmI will post some pics of my princess Asha for you shortly so you can see how mine looks. I have never been questioned about it's authencity before & I've been to quite a few high end jewelers. Even my close personal jeweler told me it's the best princess sim he's ever seen & he's been in business for 35 years now. He's the one who pointed out why my princess Asha looked different than the ones he carries in the store b/c my is cut to a true Ideal princess cut diamond.

Tahnks s2kgurl! The pics help a lot and yours looks sooo beautiful. Do you have any side view? What kind of setting did you pick? Do you have another hand shot from far distance?
It's sure hers is very beautiful, but I still think I can tell the difference between yours and the ones I saw at the jewelry store. I dont really care if I see my skin through the stone, but I DO care about these BLACK MARKS... It just looks so strange to me. Why are they THERE?! The diamonds, most ones you see in the real life, have like "gather'" in the middle which I though "X-ish mark", just like "crashed ice".
I dont care if the cut is perfect or not, I want my stone/sim to look like "REAL". If real ones are not perfect then mine doesnt need to be perfect. I want my asha to have those dark gathered mark in the middle instead of just being white. I wish BTD will make some changes to focus on more "realistic look" than "perfect look". I think that's the thing most people want for their sims, that's why some people prefer smaller stone, warmer stone, not just because they love small size and warmth, because they think it would look more real. If you had enough $$$ and would you buy H/I/J color rather than D/F/F more colorless one? Would you buy under 1ct rather than 3,4,5ct?

Bottom line is: You can't please all of the people, all of the time. Some people want their sims cut to exacting standards, others want them with faults to appear more "real". I have learnt through my many years involved with the sim community that not everyone has the same wants or needs and companies can't cater to everyone. I hate EC sims, so I have had to find other sim cuts that I can love rather than obsessing on how the EC cut sim doesn't have this, or has that.

I agree, asha princess is the BEST princess sim I have ever seen, I dont think I wanna buy other kind of sims. But you know, "asha is the best" doesnt mean asha has a realistic look, to me.... If it's too perfect, people think it's cz. If I was from a really rich family and my husband was $$$ business owner, then people around me would think it's real though. Now I wonder why asha has a smaller table and higher crown, why BTD didnt go with the same style that most diamonds have..(bigger table, lower crown, etc) . I think this difference makes these black marks, because other cz have same black marks and they have smaller table and higher crown!

If I had to pick my ideal diamond I think i would pick a 3ct princess in a G color. I wouldn't pick what the Asha replicates even if I could afford it. I think maybe they just can't make the Asha any less than perfect. I know it sounds weird to want something less than perfect but I am in complete agreement with you!

I am a HUGE fan of what I'll call 'square diamonds' and have been for many years. I'm still in love with the diamond from my first engagement ring, which I was told was a .53 ct princess cut. After my crazed search to find a perfect engagement ring this time around, I noticed that what the jewelry stores in my area ALL call Princess Cuts are actually all Square Brilliants. This forum is what first led me to this conclusion, since I too was concerned that any square stone other than a diamond had a much smaller table and looked visibly different and I hated it. I wanted it to look exactly like all my square brilliant jewelry. I finally decided to do a side by side picture comparison of similar rings from Asha Diamonds and Moissanite Co. The difference is HUGE! Asha's are true princess (I think, I've never actually seen a true princess) while Moissanite is the Square Brilliant I'm used to. Since I've heard both websites use actual photos of actual rings and not computer images, this cinched it for me. Apparently I am very much not a fan of princess cuts, but am a lunatic for Square Brilliants. Do you think this could be the same story for you? Do you still have a square brilliant diamond? I know there is a huge difference between moissanite's square cut and asha/diamond's princess cut, but I have never seen diamond's square brilliant. Or maybe the one I saw at the first jewelry store was "square brilliant"... Can you post some pics?

Bottom line is: You can't please all of the people, all of the time.
Some people want their sims cut to exacting standards, others want them with faults to appear more "real". I have learnt through my many years involved with the sim community that not everyone has the same wants or needs and companies can't cater to everyone.
Same here. With each sim cut, it all boils down to what you can psychologically tolerate. Very subjective. Opinions run the gamut from babyfinger's to s2kgurl's, both equally valid.
