The idea that a diamond is "inferior" is not one we all share. I personally like lots of different things for differrent reasons. In certain way some out shine another, but beauty is really in the eye of the beholder. You can get a "perfect" diamond, but will pay for it. But depending on who you ask, perfection is varied. AGS perfection is what some people aspire to have, others love "their perfect stone", with character and slightly wonky characteristics.

As for "passing it off"...that is somehting totally different and a vaery personal decision. There are a lot of reasons that people may want to keep the source of their stone to themselves. Asha is made to resemble diamond. If you love how a diamond looks but want Asha instead, it makes sense that you want a stone with realistic characteristic.

Oh, I should've put that in quotes, lol. I accidentally stated my opinion as a generalization, which I shouldn't do. Sorry. =]

KaterBels, I am sorry you took it that way. I am a true princess lover and always have loved princess cut stones. We each have a stone we love. I wasn't trying to be rude at all. If someone is buying a asha or any other stone and wanting it to look more "diamond" like than asha stones are the closest your going to get. Asha princess is the closest princess cz I've seen that looks more diamond like. Square Brilliant and Princess cut are two different things. Thats all I meant to say. I am not a moissanite fan. For my taste they are to warm and they have very different cutting than asha. With a moissy you know they will look nothing like a diamond if thats what your trying to pass it off as. I go to many high end jewelers and when I took in the moissy I bought they knew right away just be looking at it for seconds it was a moissanite. Moissanite has beautiful sparkle but it is not diamond looking to me. That is just my opionion though.
