I had a real Princess diamond, but I no longer have it (I was previous engaged to somebody else before getting together with my husband, and the princess diamond was what I had.) I now currently have a 2.5 carat Asha Princess. Now, let me state for the record that I am one of those people that like my jewelry 'perfect'. I don't like warm stones - I like totally colorless stones. I remember giggling to myself reading a concern that many people have - that the stone is too white. And here I am worried that the G colored stone would be not colorless enough! I only have one diamond that is very small, set in an antique ring - and it's not princess - so I cannot compare. However, looking at my Asha I DO see the X! In fact, that was one of the main reasons that I went with the Asha, as opposed to the Moissy one... the cut with the Moissy I just didn't like. But, I personally love the way my Asha princess is cut! Again, I have no princess diamonds to compare it to up close. So, I can't really comment if it looks real or not, but I love mine.

I used to have a 1ct (6mm) Princess Asha and compared it to a PC diamond. We could not tell the difference with cut, only the color was different - the Asha was a lot whiter. There was also some windowing evident, but in that size it was not glaringly obvious.
Perhaps like most sims, the larger the carat size, the less "real" they look.

I just thought some of you dont really understand what I'm saying and what I've noticed from my comparison just because you dont have a princess cut diamond or you are just not a big fan of princess cut. I took some pictures yesterday. Please take a look at. You can see "4 black marks" in asha. My diamond also shows some kind of "black-ish mark" (I thought this looked like "X") but it's in the middle of the stone. From my experience at the jewelry store, I noticed that almost all princess cut diamonds show this black-ish/shilver-ish mark in the MIDDLE of the stone while asha's middle area is white. Close up Do you think this is a part of "windowing"? I really dont know why ahsa has these black marks. Since asha is cut as same way as diamond, how come diamonds dont show these and ahsa does? What causes this? What makes this difference?

I do have a question for you, Babyfinger.
On your diamonds certificate, what does it say about the cut? Is it Good, Very Good, Excellent, Ideal?
You have to keep in mind that Asha's are cut to exacting standards and compare to Ideal cut diamonds. Unless a diamond falls within the same parameters I think it's an unfair comparison.
No offense intended to you in any way. I'm just stating that some shapes are cut for size and are not always within ideal parameters. KWIM?!?!

Thanks sparklee, I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE asha, just dont have confidence to be able to pass it off as a diamond because of the differences I just found out. My diamond's cut is "very good" and not "excellent". But I have read that cut grade is for RB. So if your diamond is "fancy cut", you might wanna focus on something else such as "symmetry". My concern is "Diamonds dont have those marks, but Asha, and other sims DO have." It's like that is the sign of "fake". Here is the pic. I added cz that is cut very well. Close up. I just dont know what to do. I love asha when it looks beautiful just like the last pic I posted last time. I love it and I wanna wear it all the time but I just need more confidence....
