Moissanite OEC + Yellow Gold + Bezel = Yum!

First I would like to thank the Academy...ha ha, kidding! Details: - 8mm OEC Moissanite (unenhanced) - Setting & bands by Etsy vendor Silverwoods - 18k yellow gold (brushed satin finish) - Burnished champagne & cognac natural diamonds - ranging from quite light to dark but all of them are very sparkly! - My finger size is about 5.5ish, but the bands are 6.5. First thoughts are: love 'em! Though the OEC is the same size as my sapphire, it seems so big right now (not helped my not having worn a stone for over a month!). I am already used to it after an hour though, ha ha. Definitely would not go bigger though, the bezel adds only a little but it is more than enough. This already pushes my preference for "understated" to the limit! Indoors under lighting I get lots of bright rainbows, outdoors in sunlight more pastels (as seen in pics). The faceting is great. I can see it so much easier in this size than in my pendant/earrings. I can see the little flowery look. I just love the crown height of this stone. It makes it so much more interesting for me (especially in a bezel when I cannot see the side). I have not decided how to wear them yet. I like the three bands but it does add a lot of width. Some days I may just opt for one band either side, though I DO love lots of width. Incredibly impressed with the craftmanship. Guido (of Silverwoods) is truly an artist. The bands themselves are beautiful, and interesting as they vary due to the differeing sizes of the diamonds and how he places them (in 1s, 2s, and 3s). I really wanted an organic and "artistic" look and I think that was well accomplished. I do feel like I am wearing something very special and unique (at least around where I live!). Now on to the pics, I have many, but I tried to "narrow" it down! I was wearing a black shirt with a green scarf while taking most of these. Bit of fun reflection of my green scarf in the sun: Sort of full handshot in daylight (partial sun): Angled profile: Some red/pink fire: Catch the Kozibe! Inside in natural light: Inside under potlighting: Under other small potlights during day: Okay, my husband's computer drives me nuts, so this is enough pictures, ha ha! If anyone has any questions or wants some more specific pictures, ask, as I may have some already taken.

Wow! That is an amazing ring (set of rings, actually!) When I first showed my husband what I was getting, he was like "why do you need three bands?" I just looked at him like he had three heads and said "because they are just tiny thin little bands all on their own!". Ha ha,

Yeah, I definitely know they are not everyone's style! Which is cool with me, but I am happy to hear you like how they look anyway! My husband just came home from Calgary and has said he likes them much better than my old rings (he never quite liked them). He thinks they are sort of Lord of the Ring-ey, elven, spidery, zombieish (Um, I like zombies but still had to ask what he meant...apparently they remind him of bony zombies). He always has a peculiar way of describing things...but these are all positive descriptors, ha ha, though maybe not for jewelery forums where they may not seem as flattering. He thinks they are very "RaiKai".

Oh. My. Goodness. What everyone else said x 10,000,000,000! This is hands down my favorite set ever. What does it look like from underneath? Could you possibly post any photos showing the solitaire from that angle?

So I got lucky in that this morning when I was leaving the gym, it as overcast and spitting rain and got to see my stone in that sort of weather. Thought you guys might like some pictures of it outside, and in the car. This stone is just so fascinating in different lighting conditions. I put my rings back on after my workout this morning and noticed how sparkly and amazing they looked in the change room, so tried to get some pics of that too! I found that in the outside overcast, it just looked very "steely". Note that those yellow reflections are either from the bezel, or the sticker on my camera. Some of the blue, etc is from the car next to me. I noticed a few times the writing on my camera would show up reflected back at me too, but I could not capture it! I noticed that in the car, it just reflected every colour around me. From my black jacket, to black interior, to the yellow bezel, and even my skin! It was incredibly hard to photograph though! In the car: Outside the car:

Ah the video, words fail! Please add more, the color of green I'm turning is lovely. (;
I can't believe you could walk past the gym desk without someone commenting on those beauties, but maybe my perspective has been skewed, hehe.
Any idea how high that bezel raises off of your finger?

Ah, well, the desk at 4:00am is occupied by a guy who is cool, but I don't think much interested in jewelery, especially at 4:00am, and when I leave afterward the girl there can't really see it from her angle anyway! I just measured...it is about 6mm off my finger, and the stone's table ends up at about another 1mm from that. I'll try and take some more videos over next while in different conditions.

Wow! This is not what I had in mind at all! I was expecting a modern type ring, since you talked about the bezel. But this is incredibly organic feeling! LOVE IT! Also, the stone is great! It reacts very well to the overcast conditions I think! Nothing at all like my old RB.

It reacts very well to the overcast conditions I think! Nothing at all like my old RB. Thanks Kat! Yeah, I definitely was going for an organic feel. It is much more me than the more classic/traditional looks or the antique looks (which I totally admire and love looking at, but don't fit my personality and "me" quite as much!). They are still modern in the sense of their sculpting and clean lines, but I did want something that at the same time looked somewhat rustic and nature-inspired-looking. I also like that they always look a bit different when I wear them. The bands fit against each other in all sorts of different ways. In some ways when I place them they fit very snugly, so there is almost no gap as they "tuck" into each other, but in other ways I get more spacing. And then of course, since the melee varies across them, I get all sorts of results. I like how free-flowing they can be that way - always a bit different! Yeah, I have to admit I was quite loving it in the overcast. People were looking at me a little oddly standing by my car in a public parking lot (by my gym) at 7:30am and taking pictures of my hand...ha. I found the faceting rather intriguing under that sky though. There definitely was some body colour in there that I noticed as I was driving, but it was not a body colour that to me screamed "green apple" or "snotcast" as I have heard some describe. Whatever it was, it was very pleasing to me personally and another property I just love about this stone. I actually like it in that lighting more than the sparkly gym lighting that gives it that really rainbow-ey sparkle, but I can be a bit weird like that!

So glad you love the set I just figured out what they remind me of! They look a bit like bamboo! So, very nice clean lines, but also very natural and intriguing.

OMG, I only made it to the first picture and I'm calling SHOTGUN!! I LOVE YOUR ENTIRE SET!! Okay, I'm going back to check out the rest of the thread now... Ha ha, okay, I will put you second after MissGotRocks who had called shotgun before she ever even saw them. Though I certainly plan on these being with me forever and ever (these are the rings I should have had in the first place!), so it may be a long wait!
