I think that might be what I love about this ring. It's WAY too much, but it's fun for me to look at. Would I probably kill someone by accident lugging it around on my hand, yes!

I also think you should do a Champagne color, and the marquise...maybe mix that up some how with princess or baguettes. Those in a colorless stone against the champagne would stand out. So you would have the 12 colorless around the champagne, and the four corners would be colorless as well.
I know I'm not as technical as all of you because I don't know all of the terms ... but just a suggestion. Kind of like this, it screams classy to me:
