It looks like Camilla Parker Bowles Windsor's ring. How original is that? I like it, but how could something like that take a year to design. To me, although its beautiful because I adore the emerald cut stone, its just an ordinary ring that one sees in high end jewelry stores. Nothing especially special. And something struck me-isn't she an activist and I'm sure one of the things she would be against is blood diamonds. Does anyone suppose these to be the dreaded blood diamonds?

Even if they are not blood diamonds wearing diamonds when you are a human rights advocate seems weird to me. You are still publically supporting the industry regardless of where they came from. I am shocked but I can not judge since I have several diamonds myself.

I like it but have to say the proportions of Camilla's ring are better. Angelina's center stone sorta gets lost w/the rest of the diamonds. I'm actually shocked by Brad's choice and pictured a honker emerald would be more up her alley since she's worn them on the red carpet so often.

That struck me as odd as well. I remember hearing her say in an interview once, a long time ago, that she would never wear 'real' diamonds, because she would always think of the people she was trying to be an advocate for, and that they didn't have them. I'd pegged her for an Asha or Moissy girl because of it.

BUT, for an engagement ring, I can see the tight spot that puts Brad in. ALREADY, I've read more than one article that was comparing her ring to Jens's... and berating him for potentially spending less on this ring than he spent on Jen's... and "does that mean he loved Jen more?" Idiots of the world... attaching the amount of love someone has for a person to the price tag.

I'd hate to be stuck under the public's magnifying glass like that...

At any rate, no matter if the ring is diamonds, or Ashas in disguise, I just hope they are happy.

I think I like the ring.... really like the side stones more than the center... but she needs to gain just a lil weighht, she's so scrawny lately... =(

I have more of an issue with her weight! lol! But I read she said she has trouble eating because of the guilt she felt after visiting Cambodia for the first time. She's a little nutty, but not a bad person at all. How many people starve themselves out of guilt? Even if she was a nobody she would still be a somebody...doing great things. That's my 2cents. Is she perfect? No. She's figuring out life like the rest of us. I think she's grown up a lot.

Oh, and as far as comparing Jen's and her ring. Well, I remember thinking Jen's was cheap looking. It wasn't all that big of a center stone. Plus, I bet those stones in Angie's are flawless, too, and I bet the carat weight is more. I think Brad just errs on the side of "not too much" in regards to design. That's not a criticism either.
