Why am I worried about my 10mm round brilliant Wink CZ looking too big?

I think what most people are seeing is the overdone setting. When you have a center stone that is 15+cts, most feel you don't need to dress it up too much more. I know it's subjective, but her particular setting is over the top, and to me, it cheapens the overall look.

E, that is a far cry from almost 16cts. 10mm is big, but it's not outrageous. And if I recall, your setting is also on the simpler side. You'll be just fine.

Well I'm like most of you. I think a larger stone (of any type-be it natural, simulated, clear or colored) does better in a more simple setting.

That being said, we have to allow people their own individual tastes and preferences and not jump on them because what they chose is not what we would if in the same situation.

I would say many celebrities who have large diamonds also have over the top settings. It seems to be the trend today so I can see why many average people try to copy the look.

"piece of work" pretty much describes that ring. I can't help but think what I'd do with it... sell the whole thing,hop on a plane to beautiful NZ, buy a gorgeous 8-9 mm Amora RB, put it in a simple setting with a small halo and donate the rest of the money to my local animal shelters(sadly, we have many of them here in San Antonio because of all the stray and unwanted animals :<).

Yup. Even if I won the lottery and COULD afford a stone that size, I would never ever wear something that excessive, loud, garish, tacky, gaudy, tasteless, pretentious ... you get the drift. Setting has little to do with it. There is a point when pretentious is obvious and screams out to normal sensibilities.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
