Sorry Flashfrenzy ... no matter how you spin it, I will have to agree to disagree with you. She's a home wrecker. He's a known cheater.

I can't muster the interest in any symbol of their "love".

Flash, I think I am drinking haterade, but here is why:

I imagine myself in Jennifer's shoes. Hubby shows up and says: "I fell in love with someone insanely gorgeous and younger than you, she gives me what I need, sorry."

Oh man, I don't even know how I would react. mad I feel like Jen was a class act, so I feel for her. Do we really know what happened, definitely not -but I can just imagine how a woman would feel in Jen's shoes and my heart goes out to her.

You guys don't have to defend how you feel about adulterers, lol. I just know for me, I'm not going to judge them, especially considering I don't know them and certainly don't know details. It doesn't mean I condone the behavior. It's awful and sad. But honestly, I really don't give a Bo-hiney about them. But of course, yes, for Jen it had to have been hurtful and humiliating. She's better off without him anyways. (ew)

I was far more offended by the actions of President Clinton, for example, who I feel disrespected the office of the Presidency and made a mockery of himself as the leader of this country, let alone humiliate Hillary Clinton beyond measure. But that's another thread. wink

There is really no such thing as a conflct free diamond. The Kimberley Process is beyond flawed and even Canadian diamonds cause damage through mining alone.

She can of course change her mind, but that doesn't make it any less hypocritcal. I would never say I wouldn't wear a diamond if I were a celeb... I think very few would stand behind that years later, when in a serious relationship. People that put themsleves in the spotlight and make grand public statements should have more forethought. But...it's Hollywood. Very, VERY, few marriages and relationships are untouched by scandal at some point. That said, I was always team Jen. smile

Maybe it's an antique diamond, and he used melee from Australia and recycled metal? lol.

Jen and Angelina are like the sun and the moon, that's for sure!

I know basically nothing of celebrities as a rule. Honestly, for a long while I thought that Kim Kardashian was the screen name of a member here. I did quite a head slap when I found out that she's a real person.

But even at my live-under-a-rock level of pop culture awareness, even *I* think Angelina Jolie is a nut job. Wearing Billy Bob's blood in a vial around her neck, yet cheating on him; impassioned pleas for human rights and the earth, yet dripping in stones -- it's just too much intensity and hypocrisy to take seriously.

I realize that celebrities are completely unknowable. We never see the real person, only what the publicity machines churn out. There's no telling what these two are like as human beings.

The only thing I'm sure of is that the girl needs some lunch and the boy needs some shampoo.

I am probably 'over' the Jen vs. Angie thing. Jen seems happy, herself, these days. That said, I do think Angie tends to be hypocritical. It irritated me when she did that interview where she said that 'having biological children' was selfish when so many need homes. THen she went on to have 3 biological children (the twins rumoured to be IVF). So her getting a diamond after saying she wouldn't...or that they are getting married when 'everyone can't get married' does seem to fit her MO. My .02.

I admit that I'm dying to see a better picture of that ring though! smile

Stupid ipad is weird about posting after a long quote, it doesn't let me scroll down...

Anyway, I feel like some of you and agree with Vanillabeanz, I won't be happy for them. I loved Brad and Jen, I hate Brangelina. Brad is a cheater, she is a homewrecker and slutty to my eyes. I don't care that much about celebrities and I have a few I like and whose work I follow, but I intenseley dislike Angelina.

As for the engagement, I really don't care. Well, they are making it legal at least . The one I admire in all of this is Jen, who has always gotten the short end of the stick from the moment that woman walked in to their lives. I remember some Oscars a few years ago where she got up to present, looking sooo pretty, while they were sitting on the front row, right in front if her! She was so graceful and poised!

I am totally over Jennifer Aniston. Yeah we get, Brad cheated on you. Get over it, move on, and stop bringing it up in every single interview you get, especially 7 years later! You're not the only woman whos been cheated on, life goes on.
