For the longest time I have been counting on a princess cut diamond for my engagement ring. But for purely financial/personal reasons my FI and I have decided to go with a Moissanite. I have been seeing tons of beautiful round and cushion cuts and in real life they look awesome! BUT their version of the princess, the square brilliant looks odd to me. I am well aware that it is cut differently from the traditional princess cut. But I have princess earrings and a pendant already and want to know if the current Moissanite revision (amora or unenhanced) are enough to pass the regular layperson's eye who comes up without questioning why it "looks different." I searched and it seems alot of the threads on here with posted square cuts are some 2-5 years old. Does anyone have a ring shot with an actual Moissanite center stone they have purchased from MoissaniteCo or BTD within the past year that they can post a clear photo of? It seems there are different "revisions" that come out sporadically and I want to know what the current revision looks like in a real life setting. Not the studio quality (black or white background) photos that the vendors post on their site.
Please not looking for commentary on Moissy's being a gem in their own right, etc. Our initial choice was white sapphire but it seems too cloudy for my taste and doesnt have half the sparkle. We have been ring shopping for over 2 months and this time is running out for us, so we need to make a decision this week and need to order the stone as the ring and setting is being done at our local jeweler. Thanks in advance for your help.
