Have you ever searched for FOREVER for a design or a setting, finally made a purchase and then had the perfect ring pop up out of nowhere?

No joke, I just commissioned DK to make a customized version of the ring in my avatar. I debated on whether to settle for an OEC or a regular cushion (I really want an Amora ACC or AVC) and agonized over tiny design details and worried whether going custom was the right choice.

And then, just a few days after finally finalizing my order, I see the exact setting I'd based my design on over on the Bistro, set with a 1ct OEC in my size and cheaper than retail:

I feel like the jewelry gods are laughing at me. To be honest, if I'd seen that ring a few months I probably would have snapped it up and never thought twice about going custom. But in the end, I'm glad I did, as DK has been great to work with and I've been able to perfect the couple of little things that I didn't like about the inspiration ring. Still! What are the odds?

It happens sometimes.... but like you said when you do go custom you can have THE PERFECT piece you are wanting... that was like me with my Dreamy... it's done just the way you want it...
