So, will the amora have the same limitations as an asha as far as having a jeweler set it? I'm wondering if the amora can't be heated and polished, like an asha. Nope, moissy can take the heat unlike Asha. But, Less pointed out that that Amora Gem is not actually moissanite...same crystal family but not moissy. That's why it is being called a "gem". You should not have any setting restrictions with it!

Please someone correct if I am wrong, but I think we can't really expect the same pricing as BTD would offer (about $500/ct). Purchasing Amora Gem from an overseas distributor involves covering their shipping costs, customs duties, other possible import taxes, then the local sales taxes, and finally the distributor's mark up. All this will inevitably drive the prices way higher... unless their purchase price from BTD is considerably lower than the one offered to regular customers. That would be totally reasonable. However, what reasons would we have for purchasing from a third party distributor, when we could just order from BTD directly and have it shipped to a foreign PO Box, then forwarded back to us?

Amora Gem is still moissanite technically. It is SiC, and SiC is all moissanite.
Since vendors overseas are limited by the same patents, shipping costs are our responsibility, as are any fees. Just like when we but from BTD. I have to pay duties, but that is not their issue, it is mine. As for $500/ct or not, perhaps Less has regulated the price with them?? Not sure. But mail forwarding with gems is not cut and dry and a lot of POs will not ship them.

My husband will be going to Korea a lot this year for work so does anyone know if it is possible for me to buy using my US based credit card but have the stones shipped to his South Korea office? Is that allowed?

Is that allowed? As far as patent issues, that's okay. It's the shipping address that matters (the gem can only be shipped to a patent-free country), not the billing address.

Let me rephrase my question. If I gave an amora to a jeweler to be put in a setting and didn't tell him it wasn't a diamond, would he be able to treat it the same as a diamond?
