Yeah, some people have expressed interest in buying Ashas with more inclusions (same for the Avarra lab-created gemstones), to look more "realistic", so you're certainly not alone when it comes to wishing Ashas didn't replicate the best of the best. smile

This page may help you feel better about princess cut diamond cuts and parameters. As you can see "Very Good" cut is preferred over "Good", but depths and table size can vary greatly.

Princess cut.

I fount this pic. This is another princess cut diamond. This one has a very small table. (Also it looks like this one is cut differently, little bit, I guess...) So this means asha could have a small table as "diamond". This makes me feel better.

If you still dont know about "table" please compare to this one. You can see a square line inside the stone, and that's the table. (This diamond has 72% table.)

What you are showing with most of those pictures is that the Asha is better cut than most of the diamonds. The exception its the WhiteFlash diamond.

One of the problems with the Asha and WinkCZ princess cuts is that they are better cut than most diamonds.

As a diamond dealer, I am often both offended and dismayed at how poorly the average princess cut diamond is cut.

After my crazed search to find a perfect engagement ring this time around, I noticed that what the jewelry stores in my area ALL call Princess Cuts are actually all Square Brilliants. This forum is what first led me to this conclusion, since I too was concerned that any square stone other than a diamond had a much smaller table and looked visibly different and I hated it. I wanted it to look exactly like all my square brilliant jewelry.
I finally decided to do a side by side picture comparison of similar rings from Asha Diamonds and Moissanite Co. The difference is HUGE! Asha's are true princess (I think, I've never actually seen a true princess) while Moissanite is the Square Brilliant I'm used to. Since I've heard both websites use actual photos of actual rings and not computer images, this cinched it for me. Apparently I am very much not a fan of princess cuts, but am a lunatic for Square Brilliants. Do you think this could be the same story for you?

Do you still have a square brilliant diamond? I know there is a huge difference between moissanite's square cut and asha/diamond's princess cut, but I have never seen diamond's square brilliant. Or maybe the one I saw at the first jewelry store was "square brilliant"... Can you post some pics?

I do, I'm sorry I haven't been back in a few weeks!! I'll try to upload them later smile

Here are the best pics I could get of my Square diamond...it's a solitaire I reset into a halo. I have a 3 stone also, but the pics won't upload for some reason frown Totally different than an Asha princess, more like a Moissy from what I can tell.

To me moissy looks nothing like a real princess cut stone. I am a true princess cut lover. I can't stand the look of square brilliant. Its sad so many stones are cut more like moissy. to me thats poor looking princess if you can call it that. Even a real princess diamond has some windowing. the bigger the stone in a real princess cut stone the bigger it is. My cousin has a 3.5carat real PC Diamond. Its pretty very pretty but you notice the windowing big time. Everyone has there own opinions. I get my Asha princess in a couple weeks and I honestly can't wait to see it.

I love colorless high end Diamonds. I can afford them but would rather put the money towards my kids. I ca't wait to get my perfect asha princess. I know I can wear it in good confidence.

Just remember the smaller you go in a "diamond" there will always be less windowing. The bigger you go the more windowing there is. People should buy the right size for them.

Isn't the whole thing about buying sims that we don't care to buy into the hype of "real" stones and what they give as status? If this truly is about how pretty the stones are and how much they sparkle for the sake of the art of jewelry, then why would we want to try to pass them off as an inferior stone? Why are diamonds still considered superior when they're cut to far more inferior standards? In emeralds, I quite like inclusions, because they look cool to me, but I wouldn't get a sim with purposeful inclusions just to try to appease the "jewelry gods" and make them think it was real...

If we're going with sims we should really stop comparing to diamond altogether. There's no reason for diamond to be a "better" stone, it's just a different one. =]

"I can't stand the look of square brilliant. Its sad so many stones are cut more like moissy. to me thats poor looking princess if you can call it" that.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little offended by this comment. Not that you don't like the look of square brilliant stones (diamond, moissy, whatever) because everyone has an opinion, but that you say it looks like a 'poor looking princess'. It's a different cut entirely, it's like comparing a hearts and arrows round to a round brilliant...they're both round and that's it. My square brilliant diamonds were purchased from upscale jewelers, not Big Lots, so I don't think they're a 'poor looking' anything. I'm sorry if that's what you meant, but that's how it comes across.
