I just went to the Amora gem OEC page and looked at the original artist's rendering of the OEC design and the culet looks much smaller than the culet appears to be in the photos/video of the actual Amora.

I like a large culet, but this one seems huge. I know it's not necessarily as easy as just "cutting the culet smaller," as a lot of planning and design goes into each cut to maximize its performance, but I think that to be marketable, the OEC will need a smaller culet.

Possibly.... but what I'm seeing, (or what I think I'm seeing) is a big open hole in the center with the black background showing through it, the size of it seems to match the flat area in the back of the stone on the video.

Hopefully at some point soon, Less will jump in and provide more info. as I would be extremely happy to be wrong in this case.

I keep returning to view the video / images and wonder if it would possible to see it with a light background where the culet might be less noticeable than with the current black background showing through?

I'd love to see this against a lighter background, maybe even on someone's hand?

Yeah, me too! We get used to seeing these whopper-huge photos / images online and tend to forget that in real life, the stones are a lot smaller, and can look significantly different than the zillion-times magnification. LOL!

The one on top still looks pretty big to me compared to the one on the bottom.
I wonder why the change?
