My question is if the size vs quality were that important to this girl (certainly not calling her a woman) why did she not discuss this at some point with her fh? At some point she had to get the hint that he was at least heading in the proposal direction and could have started dropping hints. "Oh wow I can't believe how much MissX's ring cost because it was IF. Personally I think VS2 is fine because I have always wanted a big old 2 carat. What do you think honey?" Maybe that wouldn't be right either. At least the poor fellow would have gone looking with a clue of what she wanted though and she wouldn't be thinking of lying. Why not just say what you desire if it is that big of an issue? Even my non ring buying husband knows my favorite shape stone. ~Red

This thread got my curiosity up, so I clicked on it and then I got on the link to Wedding Bee. I read the girl's question about trading her diamond out to my husband, and he just rolled his eyes because he could care less. I read the whole thing just now. I noticed that it appeared one person told her to go ahead to do it, and I did see someone told her to get moissanite or Asha or another brand of cz. Geez, I wish my husband could of afforded to get me a 1 1/2 size stone. That is the size I wanted since this was my second marriage. Couldn't afford it, so I got a Diamonique stone that size for $20.00, went to a jewelry store down the street where I lived, ordered a ring for $80 and I was happy with that. This was back in 1996, so gold was cheap back then. I'd still wear it but I gained 20 pounds and my finger went up from a 6 to a 7, so I can't wear it. That's where my Ashas come in. Some of you women are probably right about her. First its the ring, then the car, the house, the schools their kids go to if they last that long. Oh, well, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
