My question is if the size vs quality were that important to this girl (certainly not calling her a woman) why did she not discuss this at some point with her fh? At some point she had to get the hint that he was at least heading in the proposal direction and could have started dropping hints.
"Oh wow I can't believe how much MissX's ring cost because it was IF. Personally I think VS2 is fine because I have always wanted a big old 2 carat. What do you think honey?"
Maybe that wouldn't be right either. At least the poor fellow would have gone looking with a clue of what she wanted though and she wouldn't be thinking of lying. Why not just say what you desire if it is that big of an issue? Even my non ring buying husband knows my favorite shape stone. ~Red

I like this forum so much because no one is catty and everyone is so respectful! I rarely EVER find that on other forums.. I feel lucky to be a member here.. considering deleting my account on those other places after the behavior I have seen lately on other ones..

Anyway, just wanted to say.. I appreciate btd forums and all of you guys that make it such an open respectful place!

This thread got my curiosity up, so I clicked on it and then I got on the link to Wedding Bee. I read the girl's question about trading her diamond out to my husband, and he just rolled his eyes because he could care less. I read the whole thing just now. I noticed that it appeared one person told her to go ahead to do it, and I did see someone told her to get moissanite or Asha or another brand of cz. Geez, I wish my husband could of afforded to get me a 1 1/2 size stone. That is the size I wanted since this was my second marriage. Couldn't afford it, so I got a Diamonique stone that size for $20.00, went to a jewelry store down the street where I lived, ordered a ring for $80 and I was happy with that. This was back in 1996, so gold was cheap back then. I'd still wear it but I gained 20 pounds and my finger went up from a 6 to a 7, so I can't wear it. That's where my Ashas come in. Some of you women are probably right about her. First its the ring, then the car, the house, the schools their kids go to if they last that long. Oh, well, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

It was this one. Can I post links from another forum? I don't want to get in trouble.

wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww,..
how ridiculous!!

I sure as heck did not pick moissy to ACT like I was getting a BIG diamond to everyone!!

My reasons..

1) I like sparkle!!
2) Its wayyyyyyyy less than diamonds!!
3) Did I say I like sparkle!!

Its crazy to think you only get a big ol moissanite to fool people of your status!! lol

Here I am farm girl,.with holes in her jeans in public!!
I just happen to love a big sparkle for my E-ring...
and then the comment on halos...that they could be thought of the same way!! lol
That you are just "trying" to make your diamond look bigger,..to look like a rich person again!! hahahhaahhaaa

I fell in love with a halo,.the first time I laid my eyes on them. Especially my design,...I thought it looked like a beautiful flower.

True true,..I could never afford a diamond 1.5 OEC if I wanted to. But if I had the money,..I would still want the OEC moissy and spend the rest on other things!!

But I'm just the krazy kanga lady..

Agreed!!!! wink grin

and to add, my first e-ring was a moissy and I LOVED it, Still do. DH and I always wanted to get a diamond so when we finally could afford the size that seems suitable for us, we bought.

I had bad luck with the setting and I always LOVED to LOOK of the big halos, NOT to make it look big and make me look rich, LOL, I wish LOL. But because I have gigantic fingers and I just - personally - always likes big rings grin
