I think it would be better if she found out later on that her fiance or husband bought her a moissy instead of a diamond and all this time she never knew... wink

Excellent points NewSparkle. I love this commercial...

Given the choice between status and wealth I'll choose wealth every time. I still am astounded to meet people who think stuff is what makes them important. I hope she never loses her 2 ct diamond ring because I have a feeling she doesn't have much else to show for herself.

So people shouldn't color their hair, wear artificial nails, wear make-up, or push up bras? All these things misrepresent the actual looks of that person. Is that unfair too?

She can whine all she wants, but I'm keeping my moissy and push up bra thank you very much!

You go, girl.

Love that commercial MG!

The "want, want, want" mentality leaves most people feeling very empty. And I don't just mean their pockets ;-)

Shallow human being there. I hope her FI know that his generous gift of a 2ct diamond, a symbol of commitment, really equates to money and status in the overinflated piece of flesh she calls her head.

She may have money and status, clearly lacks CLASS. crazy

I haven't posted anything in this thread yet.. but I've kept up with it... I wouldn't have any problem what so ever selling every piece of jewelry I have and just keeping my little .75cttw wedding set I got married with....

I think a lot of the ladies on these other forums this is all they have... if they have the big rock then they have a good marriage ( most of the time NOT ) .... I know a lot of you feel the same way as I do... really a lot of times it makes me feel sad for them...

... but for those few that do have it all ... I wouldn't wish nothing but that for them... you can always tell the ones that aren't happy... they are the ones that look down on everyone else... just because their diamond is a 3ct and my diamond is a 1ct.... lets check back in a few years and see if that 3ct is still married or not....

... I'll go back to my reading of the thread now... grin

Ho-Lee-Balls.
Just read that thread and it hurt my brain. I already have three diamond rings, two of them are from my guy. If I wanted a diamond ring for my e-ring I would have picked one dammit! But I picked moissy instead. Sheesh. Soooo I can honestly say its not about status.

As for knockoff purses, if I fall in love with the new Marc Jacobs but can't find a suitable similar looking bag, I have no problem with the idea of shopping in Thailand for a killer knock off. Not for name brand "status" but because the bag is GORGEOUS and I just want a gorgeous bag!

As a girl that will wear $100 shoes, a $10 dress, a diamond ring and some $5 earrings all in the SAME OUTFIT, I think I can honestly say I don't care about the "status" I just like pretty things laugh laugh

I was just thinking the same thing bling! Happy I came back to this thread even though it makes my head hurt. I don't know if I'll ever join wedding bee after reading some things from there. It would be pointless to join atm other than to say that all those girls concerned about ring size blah blah were being ridiculous. I'd be happy with a ring pop or bread twist tie at this point.

Looks like her wedding was amazing! DBD's posts. smile
