I'm hoping that wasn't directed at me because I never had the opportunity to get involved in the other thread before it was locked. It was not directed at any one person in particular. I was merely stating that the thread in question is now locked, and the subject is done with. It is time to move on. This is the last we're going to say on this subject. If it continues this thread will be locked.

Or more importantly, if you don't want your ring to be copied, or in my case, here any negativety about it, don't post pics!! Um, what? Someone said something negative about your ring? I miss too much when I log out to go to work.

Thanks MGR. I saw btrflai's thread. I was actually referring to Flash's comment about "in my case, hear any negativity about it"... and wondering who or why would someone post negative comments on someone's jewellery that they are proud of? I may have read her post wrong. But in case I didn't... I'd just like to say that I think we're a pretty positive group of people here (in general). If I love something someone posts, I'm going to tell them. If it's not really my taste, but I like certain elements of it, I'll focus my comments about the elements I like ("Oh, I love the prongs!" etc). If I truly don't like something, well, I have enough sense to understand that it's just not my taste... and I can move on, not commenting, but knowing that others who will love the piece will comment and praise the wearer. So Flash, if someone was rude, know that they are just showing their poor tastes and manners. I don't even know what the comment was about... I haven't seen your project of late! Do you have a thread somewhere?

Dayna, just so you aren't left wondering... I'm predicting the responses to my future ring. ;P What can I say? I'm a survivalist. After so much going into this I don't think I can handle any "I don't know, it's not really my style, DK's rings are so bulky and I prefer dainty, and his milgraining, well I prefer milgrain that is practically invisible, or none at all, so I certainly wouldn't add THAT if I were to get this ring, even though it's not my style, oh, and I only wear palladium, I would never choose gold, and oh, do you like how the bezel turned out, cuz I don't like bezels they make the stone look so SMALL, I LOVE double claw prongs, so if I were to do this ring even though I wouldn't because it's not my style, but if I did I would have LEON make it, and I would not get a bezel, and lastly but not lastly, what matters is how YOU feel about it because what I think doesn't matter, even though what I just said is now gonna be stuck in your head like an Alannis Morisette tune, oh and one more thing...Did you ask for permission to make that ring because...and umm, do you think the stone is too big because I would have gone smaller." I mean, runon sentences are SO offensive. This post was in fun/ And yes, everyone is pretty darn lovely here. But, there is always ONE. And the silence hurts just as much.

Too funny flash!!
I guess that's why I don't ask for opinions unless I really want to hear them (and that isn't often). That applies on line and IRL. When someone posts here asking for opinions/suggestions I assume they want them and can handle them. If you ask you shall receive...probably more than you hoped for! I certainly won't be bothered if I don't like someone's opinion after I have asked for it.
However, when someone posts "Look at my new ring, I love it!" then they are looking for affirmation, not opinions/suggestions and I don't offer any. I try to say something nice about the ring or I don't post at all (which isn't an indication that I don't have something nice to say!).
