Hi All! Some info before I ask my questions.... I lost 60 pounds in 10 months by working out with a trainer 3-4 days a week and 2 work outs on my own each week. 60 pounds was baby weight. I kickbox, run, dance, use a bosu, spin, generally hard core athletic training. I eat to fuel my body to endure my work outs. Did not count calories, carbs, fat, etc. Ate what my body told me to. My muscle tone is nuts for a woman, I am strong! And MEAN! lol. I am a work out junkie, love the endorphins. I read about 20 pages out of the 76 on this thread and wondering if someone can pm me where to order this stuff. I have A LOT of reading to do on the topic. I want to lose 15 more pounds and wonder if I can get my work outs in on such restricted calories? I burn anywhere from 500-750 calories a work out. I am thinking I'd faint if I were only on 500 calories a day. I'm going to lose the last 15 pounds one way or another. If I continue to do what I've been doing, I am confident I will lose it. It's just after losing 60, weight doesn't fall off so easily, and my body is in training, so the work outs get more demanding each week. I would love to get the 15 off in a few months rather then the next year. I'd be happy with a year but thrilled if it could be sooner. Has anyone been on this and done athletic training? My level of fit is more important then the 15 pounds. (Weird right?) Long story short, can someone fast track me for info, reading, ordering so I don't have to go through 50 more pages? sorry. Any help would be so much appreciated! I will do my homework on this!

Hi Annalisa, Here is a site that explains the HCG protocol and covers both the injection method and the homeopathic route. http://www.happilythinnerafter.com/content.phpAs for the workouts, I highly doubt you'd be able to keep up that kind of a regime on this plan. The original protocol calls for low key exercise and yours is anything but low key! Congratulations on the 60 pound loss, that is fantastic! Good luck on that last 15, with whichever method you choose!

Now I have a new question! Today is day 22 on VLCD...I have lost 17.8 (pre load weight!) so far, but it has slowed down a lot this week, averaging .2/.4 a day, instead of .8 or more. I am considering ending the round and going to P3...if I prolong the round, it will be longer before I can go back on them again...thinking short rounds would be better for how my body works. On the drops, I have to take them for 23 days and then stay on VLCD for 2 full days after stopping the drops, is this correct? So tomorrow would be my last day on the drops if I am going to end the round? Just looking for clarification and insight! Thanks! Barbie

Thanks Barbie. Will do my reading, but yeah...I was thinking the same thing and will most likely continue doing what I do with nothing more added then some more sweat. I couldn't help but chime in and ask, because it is to say the least interesting. I lost same amount of weight on Atkins a few years ago with relaxed, low key exercise and this time around with going hard core and shaking my &ss every day, my body is different. Much like some of the girls have stated, I am in smaller clothes, have more definition, etc...yet the same weight. Someone stated a while back that good old exercise and diet should do the trick for most people (paraphrasing there.) I understand there are people who have issues going on with their hormones (insuline, adrenals, sex hormones, thyroid...) but I do feel too for the most part, even for these people diet and exercise should do the trick. I am my own success story, had gestational diabetes with 2 pregnancies and PCOS. I was doomed from the start. Was sure to turn into a type 2 diabetic. Even getting pregnant with PCOS was going to be a challenge. Down 60 pounds, I have none of those issues today. Oh yeah...I've got a thyroid issue too...ok had. Right foods, supplements and work outs. No it wasn't easy, but still feel like anyone can do it. HCG therapy is not something I am against in the least. But I am also a personal trainer, and have gotten people to lose weight too facing some pretty serious issues. I would at least like to leave this thought with anyone reading...the therapy is cool, can't wait to read about it, and if it's working for you, I am happy, bc I know how good it feels to lose weight. All is ask that if you consider it, let it be the last option. Put in a serious, truthful, honest, HARD effort to do it with diet and exercise. If it's not working, FIND OUT WHY!!!! Get the aid of a trainer, healthcare professionals (who seem to be not your regular family MD's but chiro's and alternative therapy)and then consider your options. Thanks. Will spend the week end reading up. Maybe my thoughts will be different after that.

Annalisa, Speaking from my own experience only, I have taken the route you have and had success, however, I burned out, even on very high quality supplements and healthy foods, etc. I was exercising up to 2 hours a day and all was well, until I broke a bone in my foot. I was laid up for 8 weeks and could never get back to the level of working out that I had reached before I got hurt. I gain weight very quickly and it piled back on over time. Recently, well a year and a half ago, I developed a severe case of Bell's Palsy, which is nerve damage in the 7th cranial nerve (a virus attacked the nerve ending, paralyzing the right side of my face). I had lost a good amount of weight in the year prior to getting sick, again, dieting and working out a lot, but had to stop working out in order to allow my body to recover from the nerve damage...and again, I gained a lot of weight back, even while trying to eat sensibly. I've had batteries of testing done on my hormonal systems, all were normal. I take supplements and have tried to eat healthy and maintain a decent weight, but it has not worked for me. I have come to realize that I gain easily because of all of the dieting I have done, my body is now programmed to GAIN because it may go back into starvation mode. The HCG protocol resets this internal mechanism to allow the body to burn the fat, while restricting calories...it is a long process, it's not a quick fix diet where you drop 25 pounds and are done. So while for some people, diet and exercise does work, I have learned that being out of balance either way (being too heavy, not exercising, over eating, or even out of balance from exercising too much) is not healthy for me. I'm not looking to be a Ms. Schwarzenegger, just a slimmer, healthier version of who I am now! I have to approach weight loss in moderation and I am hoping for a better overall outcome this time. And I can also say, I have been losing in a much different way on this plan...areas that are typically the last places I lose, I notice are already thinner...that was touted in the literature and it has held true for me. Thanks for sharing your story too, but please realize, most people do try a lot of plans before turning to HCG, it is not for the faint of heart, but it does work when other plans have failed! Wishing you continued success with your losses!

I'm sorry to hear about your battles Barbie, and all of what you have said makes sense. Yeah, I agree HCG is not for the faint of heart either. It's still a huge disciplined commitment-just like working out and dieting (which you are, in that therapy doing anyway.) There is a woman who comes to my gym who is following the protocol and threw up and got dizzy in a fitness class. She said it was too much for her on so little calories. I don't know anymore about her story, but it scares me. It blows big time that you broke your foot. I can't say I'm looking to be all beefed up as well, but I want to be strong, stable and focused. It just makes me feel like I'm a better Mommy for it. I can protect my kids, can run around with them, I can tire THEM out lol! I wish you the best and thanks again for the info
