For the diamond? I suspect it would cost more now, so you might want to look into that. Check on Bluenile to see what a diamond of the same stats and size is going for, and if it is more, then look into get the accurate replacement value of the stone documented. But, if it is comparable, then the receipt is fine.

That depends upon your insurance company, they may require an appraisal.

Okay, so I need to get it appraised. Hopefully that doesn't take too long

I do have insurance from the original purchase, but I think it requires that I have it inspected every 6 months or so, I haven't been there in 4 years (we don't live near there anymore). So it's probably void.

So now to get it appraised, then insured, and then I can get my new setting.
