Ring Size Advice needed

Hiya!
So i need to decide on a ring for my e-ring and I'm not sure how much bigger to get it.
The jeweler says I'm a 3.5, and I have a ring in this size but I find it a little tight but no muffin top shows, unless I'm bloated for whatever reason.
I was going to get a 3.75 but am considering a 4,and immediately using that ring guard solution to make it smaller and more secure. I don't want sizing beads because I'd like something a little easier to remove if needed.. If anyone has used the ring guard gel I'd love to hear your feedback.
Am I being ridiculous for wanting to get my ring 1/2 size bigger? How much bigger do you guys get your rings, and what do you do to ensure they stay on snug?
Thanks!

If you measure at a 3.5, but find a 3.75 more comfortable, that's a good choice. Getting a ring that's half a size (one size in jeweler's terms), it could be uncomfortable, even with the u-style sizer inside of it. Why would you want a ring that's too big? It's going to push against the other fingers because no matter how much you snug up the inside, the outer shank is still going to be the same diameter and push against the other fingers creating a gap between the ring finger and pinky, ring finger and middle finger.
Go with the 3.75.

I am a 6 and order 7 in wider bands to be comfy. I wouldn`t worry about going up to a 4 at all. And for the record, jewelers say I am 5.75...which is so uncomfy to me, so a 6 is good for a single thin band, and 6.5 for 2 bands, and a 7 for more tahn 2 or a wide band.

The jeweler says I should wear a 6. But the jeweler doesn't live with my salt-responsive, heat-responsive, walk-responsive fingers. Any one of these three things will cause my finger to swell a full size.
I buy big, in part due to my proneness to swelling and in part because I stack multiple bands. My avatar is a combination of sizes 6.5, 6.75, and 7 on my technically size 6 finger.
At the height of summer heat, I generally need to lose one of my bands for the duration of July and August. And I need to lose two bands if I take a walk in the heat. If I eat chow mein and take a walk in July, well.......

My current e-ring is a 7.5. I am actually a 7. I wouldn't advise getting 1/2 size larger.... I lost both of my rings years ago. They just fell off (in the winter so my fingers were even smaller) and I didn't even notice. Thankfully I ended up finding my e-ring but not my wedding band. My ring is constantly twirling around on my finger and I am always catching it with my thumb from falling off (I am used to it now). That is just my experience. And I don't tend to swell, so it may be different. Just my 2 cents

My personal experience is I won't wear loose, twirling rings. I have a beautiful Asha ring that doesn't get worn because of this annoyance. Going from a 6.5 down to a 6.25 helped even if it is a bit loose. It really is a preferance IMO, I also can't wear rings with stones between my fingers so that may be why it bothers me. ~Red

If I eat chow mein and take a walk in July, well....... Same here on all 3 counts. All jewelers seem to want to size my rings on the tight side, which I don't like. I usually go 1/4 size up, larger for stacks and wider bands. Hadley, you're funny! If I eat chow mein and take a walk in July, the EMTs will be cutting my rings off that night!
