Hi everyone, I need some help.

I´m an 18k yellow gold person for two reasons. One being allergies, the other being that I don´t feel white metals look good on my olive skin tone. I got a palladium replica swing ring and while gorgeous, I only wear it out at night because all you see is the sparke and not the metal.

When I got married almost 8 years ago, I picked out a yellow gold cartier love ring to wear for everyday. We agreed that down the road, when we could afford it, I could get a blingier ring. Last year, I fell head over heels with yellow diamonds and got myself a fancy light yellow bezel ring, in yellow gold. While it is gorgeous and I love it wholeheartedly, and wear it as a RHR every single day, I feel that it too, is very understated.

I need bling. i need sparke. I need my hand to SHINE!! I need it to light up a room! To blind people! I want a flaming sun on my ring finger!!!

Sigh. I´ve looked at about 4 kallilion rings and I know I need to sorround whichever stone I get (I might even reset my yellow diamond) in white moissanites or diamonds. I want that teeny tiny million little stone look. BUT... I want it in yellow gold.

I´ve seen it done in platinum and palladium and all kinds of white metals, but does anyone have examples of jewelry where micropave is used with yellow gold? It´s something I´d like to do but I´m terrified that I won´t like the look of it.

Or do you think I should find a white metal set that sparkles like crazy and only wear it at night when i can´t see the metal?

I think yellow gold and pave work great togther!! Just make sure the pave setting is uber well done, so that you don't see a lot of metal between the stones. I have seen some yellow gold pave rigns where the pave metal stands out a lot and it doesn't look as nice, imo.

I am a yellow gold person too My e-ring is yellow gold with micropave diamonds and I think it looks gorgeous. To me the diamonds glitter and stand out more as they don't get lost in the color of the white gold or palladium, imho of course Of COURSE I drool over the non-yellow gold rings with pave I see around here, I just prefer yellow gold for myself.

No, go with the YG. It would be a shame to get an important ring only to wear at night. As jcent said, make sure the micropave is done well.

It´s been great seeing these pieces, Bumble and e.taylor, I just love your bling! And you´re sooooo right. It actually looks like the diamonds stand out even more in your pieces.

I do agree that a bulky setting where there´s too much space between the diamonds makes it look so-so. I guess that´s what I was afraid of.

Are you very fair? I´ve always thought that yellow gold matches pretty much everyone´s skin tone.

It looks best with people with warm undertones. This has nothing to do with how fair or dark you are! I see people often say "I am pale so yellow is no good" or "I am olive skinned so yellow looks best". No, it all has to do with the UNDERtones! You can be pale with warm undertones, or very dark with cool undertones, and vice versa!

I am pasty pale as a natural redhead (e.taylor is also a redhead with pale skin!) but my undertones are warm and yellow metals look best. Yellow metals brighten up my skin, warm it up. My husband is constantly telling me how great I look in yellow gold. White metals wash me out. They make me look cold and clammy! It is just like wearing earthtone fabrics on me (awesome) or jewel colours (ick), or browns and other earthy colour makeups (smashing) or pastels and bright colours (clown like).

Cool undertones look best with white metals.

I have learned that only 10% of the population has warm undertones!
