I think my opinion is somewhat dependent on the setting. How high will it sit? What else is going on in the setting. I'm not one who thinks bigger is always better and for me that would be WAY too big but it might be just right for you.

Size-wise it's fine, but the stone itself is cloudy looking, lifeless and dull. It's like it's missing facets.

Size-wise it's fine, but the stone itself is cloudy looking, lifeless and dull. It's like it's missing facets. I agree with this. Is it just poor photography? If not, what is the stone and is it possible to get something else?

Thanks all!! I am not setting this stone.  This is just a Chris cz stone that I have for size and is probably covered in finger prints as I have never cleaned it properly. I am planning and OEC moissy for the real one. The setting will be a solitiare, with some melee on the shank, and will be pretty low set, but considering the size of the stone, it cannot be super low set.

hahaha, I thought maybe you actually. Yup, 10mm. I know a 9mm will be too small for me to be happy with, but the 9.5 has me confused. But I don't have any 9.5mm samples.
