I like Paisley I love unique names. When I was pregnant everyone gave me a hard time about the names I liked. I wanted a unisex name or a boy's name for a girl. My ex-husband's name is Frank so I wanted to name her Franki, I thought it would be cute but he wanted to name her Francesca and call her Franki. I wasn't for that. We ended up with a unisex name that had an A on the end, which was more girlie than I thought we'd pick but I love it. My all time favorite is Drew for a girl, but it didn't go with my last name so that was out. I also loved Darian, he didn't like it at all. So yeah, I like Paisley

I liked Elliot too for a girl, but again got rude comments and weird looks.

haha, I just read all the way through and DD#2's name is on your long list. My DD has a really easy but unique name, in my mind; Aria. You would not believe can not pronouce it ir spell it.. So any unusual name...I think it will bet he same. As for nicknames, I like them! But for all paper work, always her real name.

My favorite southern name of all time is Suzette. Maybe you should start working on that!

I was trying to explain to my mom what I wanted and I said the only way I could desribe it was "antique charm" or "southern belle." Out of all the names I've seen/read this was the only one I could picture on future birthday cards, or the name letters on the wall ect. I'm glad you all like it! This is all that matters, not if we like it or if your mom likes it or anyone else. It's meant to be!! And not everyone has a 'meant to be' name so that is something really special!! This. If I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't tell my family. People will always have opinions. If you go with Paisly, she may come up with a nickname for herself anyway down the road, so you can still have her name on the birth cert, and she can have the name she prefers (if it pans out that way). My cousin's given name is Adelaide and she doesn't like it a bit. She always tells people she goes by Grace (her middle name), and has been doing that since she was 10 y.o.

No matter what we name our children there will be someone that dislikes the name, sometimes it is the child themself. My husband uses are nickname that is directly related to his name but not the one his family used while he was a child. For many years I have used a name that is nothing like my name (which is on Bethany's list). My younger two children use their names as is even though my son's name is easily nicknamed and my youngest daughter has an unusually pronounced name. My eldest nicknamed herself in her late teens. Name your child what you wish if it isn't what they want later they will ask people to call them another name.~Red
