I am almost ready to pay off my 9mm OEC that I have on layaway. I'm trying to decide if I should have it sent to me first so I can see it and then have it sent to DK to set into my ring. Or, should I send it directly to Dk and save on shipping it twice?
Shipping?

He can email you a picture and/or video of the stone?

I'm sure he can. I haven't seen an OEC moissy in person though. I'm wondering if it would be better for me to look at it before it's set because of that reason.

I would send it directly, but that's because I'm not in the US. I don't want to pay for shipping and duty, then pay the shipping and duty to get the completed ring back to me.

But if I was in the US, I'd probably be curious to see the stone. smile

I would always look at a stone first. The extra shipping is a small fee to make sure that you love it in person. I am in Canada and have paid to have all my stones sent, plus the taxes, plus me sending them back, and I do not regret it. I would not feel comfotable setting a stone that I hadn't sen with my own eyes first...in lots of different lighting situations.

I'm in the US so I'm leaning towards having it shipped directly to me first. Mainly because I have only seen RB moissy in person and I didn't care for them. I'm fairly certain I will LOVE the OEC but I think I should see it in person first.

I'm glad you're having it shipped to you first to make sure you love it. Granted, my stone was less expensive than yours, so it cost less to insure, but 2-day, insured, deliver-confirmed packaging/shipping was about $15. In the overall cost of the ring, that's a tiny price to pay to make sure you'll be completely happy with it.

I was about to say YES, always look at a loose stone first, but I see you went this direction. Good move!
