hello all, i went to a few jewelry stores to try on wedding bands and my center stone looked extremely yellow in one of the stores!!!! i have sidestones that are diamonds (g in color) and i was so embarrassed when the sales lady was helping me! they had these spotlights in there i don't know why this happened but i couldn't get out of there fast enough! i do pass my amora off as a diamond and people believe it but i was shocked! it looks warm 10% of the time outdoors in shade or overcast, but it doesn't bother that much! has anyone had this happen to them? it really has been bothering me! i'm afraid to go into another jewelry store and have this happen to me again.

I wouldn't worry too much, you said it was only in that one store. I remember you also said you brought that stone to another jeweler and he was blown away by it. Enjoy your ring, stop worrying!

I rememebr someone else saying that about jewelry store lighting, but I think it depends on the lighting. I would not worry about it too much.

Were you in a Jared's, meaty? I wonder if Joyce has this problem since she works at Jared's and has something like two tons of moissanites. Hopefully she'll see this and chime in.

yes!! that was what I was thinking of.

There is ONE girl I work with who thinks my moissanite looks GREEN when we're at work. The lighting in our store is AWFUL. Even the diamonds look terrible. We don't have the typical diamond lighting that so many of the stores have.

I didn't go to Jared's I went to a few family owned stores. I actually wanted to go to Jared's bc a lady there was rude to me and i wanted to flash my ring in her face and make her eat her attitude but now that I know there's a possibility it will look yellow I wont step foot into the store.

I had this problem too in a jewelry store! so bizarre, but normally I don't see any colour in my stone - I felt so awkward :\ .. Must be certain lighting - otherwise it is glowing!

I've only ever had this problem at Helzberg. The local store where I got my ring set had big windows, so my amora lit up in there. It was also sparkly and white when a sales clerk at Macy's was turning her nose up at it, but it turned yellow in Helzberg and it was really surprising.
