I like it, but am no expert on rubys. And I adore hearts.

I can't tell if it is the angle of the picture but the heart seems off center in the setting. I would prefer this to be more heart shaped. It is wide with too shallow a V at the top of the heart. It looks more round than heart to me and my guess is that from any distance it would be hard to tell which it is. I like the color, would prefer a bit more transparency. I can't tell if there are surface imperfections that need polishing or if what I see is natural to the stone but the second picture, upper left quadrant (and to some extent upper right) look rough or like fine scratches. For reference...I don't know nothin' about nothin' when it comes to gems. I'm just telling you what my eye sees...which is what you asked.

MG I agree on needing to be more heart shaped.
I thought scratches too but didn't think rubies scratched?

Thanks for the comments-the stone is ruby, & as most stones being what they are can be scratched either in finishing or poor handling-the stone is mozambique ruby, cut as heart shape, weight is as listed,6.96ct, & the stone is heated & glass filled-all info is disclosed at sale-the price paid for this stone was less than $50.00 on auction & many people were watching. :)if the pendent is accepted as is, it does make a nice peice to wear & show, but the problem also comes up that people are buying misrepresented material, as many GI's comming back from the war are buying similar material & finding out what they have after an appraisal usually here in the states exposes to them. They usually have no recourse from what i understand & hopefully didnt loose too much on the purchase-thanks for any and all input-steve...

I like the color and size most of all. I would wear it in a heartbeat. I would like more transparancy in the stone, but still think it is a very pretty pendant.
